unlocking xcal2 to be basic tuner.
I don't understand what you are refering to.
It is not mandatory that you dyno your truck to enjoy Mikes custom tuning.
It is only recommended. Most of his custom tunes are dead on the first time....There are just as many happy customers that have not dynoed as there are that have.....

i have since gotten rid of my airforce one intake and keep having warranty issues. since i now run an airaid tube with the factory airbox i had to remove the tunes from running way to rich. i guess to get it adjusted for the factory airbox would be even better. guess i need to find out how much an update is. i also want softer shifts.

Ahhh, got it now. You had the 3.5" AF1.
Yeah, just call 'em up & get a quote for some revised tunes - it'll cost, but it's reasonable.
Good luck.
Cheers

Hello ONE04FX4,
First - no, you cannot just somehow magically change our tunes into some off the shelf standard tunes - that cannot be done. What you have is a *custom*-tuned device, and always will be.
Additionally, if I understand you correctly, I wish you would have checked with us before getting rid of your AF1, as you did not need to do to the dyno for it! Your tunes were fine right out of the box, as we have dyno'd that kit many, many times and have developed a solid transfer function for it that puts your engine within a tenth or two on the A/F ratios.
Changing to yet a different intake now means that you WILL need to datalog in order for us to correct the A/F ratios, as that Airaid tube in many cases DOES in fact lean out the A/F ratios - we have seen them do everything from be fairly close to OK, all the way to needing very significant corrections - in other words, they are not really consistent.
I do not see how you cannot afford to go to a dyno for a coupla-few quick pulls, yet you can afford to buy a different intake kit and pay us to do different tunes - that doesn't make any sense to me, but maybe I am missing something.
At any rate, we'll be happy to help you any way we can, please just give us a call - you know the number.

i have had some injector problems and an intake problem with the truck. and they kept saying to take off all the aftermarket stuff. which got to be a pain after the 5th or 6th time. after they fixed most of theproblems and i stuck the tune back in it was running rich. i figured it was because they had changed something. so i took off the airforce one and just put on an airaid jr tube. since it kept the factory airbox they quit fussing. since it was tuned for the airforce one it was running real rich. basically i was going back to stock and was just wanting to change a few things only. a dyno sessionwith logging here is 175.00. since i am going thru a DIVORCE the extra money is not an option. how much is it to update the tunes. i do know someone that will let me use an airfuel ratio moniter. guess i need to call yall and ask these questions. since email is my main source of contact hopefully you can answer it here or to my email staehli@sbcglobal.net. thanks. oh yay. the tube was purchased for me. gotta love family for some things.
Sorry to hear you are going thru all those troubles!!
However, the bottom line is that truck will *still* need to be datalogged for that Airaid tube, so that still means a trip to the dyno - and most dynos will give you a set of 3 pulls for not more than $100.
The only other way is if you have access to a portable wideband Air/Fuel ratio recorder as we talk about in our datalogging instructions as a alternate method.
The Airaid tube still leans out the motor, we've dyno'd several of them and the problem is that they are not consistent in how they affect each vehicle - we have seen them need anything form a small correction to a very large correction, that is the issue. So that still needs to be datalogged to be properly corrected.
Now one other option would be if you want to yank that Airaid off and go to back to the STOCK *factory* intake, then sure, we could simply reload the stock MAF TF and that would get you fixed.
Anyway, I do suggest calling us here, as we cannot quote prices or go into details here, so please do give us a call, this just isn't' something that can be properly discussed either here or in email, OK?
Thanks for your post clarifying what you are going thru so I could understand a bit better and thus provide what I hope is a bit more appropriate response - and I wish you better luck, my friend!
Call me & let's discuss some potential options, OK?
