it's the same effect as powerbreaking a f150 versus just nailing it at the line- these trannies do not like to be loaded-= higher et's-btw- radials should nnot be heated up unless they are say a bf goodrich drag radial- next time drive around the water and do one hard launch -phil

7.02 seconds 0-60. I still need to add headers and exhaust to make even more power.

Here is a crappy video of 0-60...

cant you guys tell me which custom tunes would get me into the mid 14's.... i know a good reaction time would help
Is your speedo on your edge correct?

I know this thread is for F150s, but I didn't see this sort of thread in the Expedition area (and don't think anyone else does it with theirs) so I'll post here.

2003 4.6 Expedition XLT
Mods:
AFE CAI
Custom 93 octane Sniper tune from Matt Robinson (green03 from expeditionforum.com)

My best run that I can prove with video, based on an Escort GT1 timer:
1/4 mile: 16.75 @ 81.8 mph
1000 ft: 13.97 sec
1/8 mile: 10.73 @ 64.8
330 ft: 6.92 sec
60 ft: 2.37 sec
0-80: 15.68
0-70: 12.03
0-60: 8.89
0-50: 6.35
0-40: 4.45
0-30: 2.95
0-20: 1.57
0-10: 0.40

^This was during that cold front that swept Florida a couple months ago. Car said 38 F if i remember correctly. Don't know humidity or exact sea level, though I'm pretty sure I'm at sea level The best 0-60 time that I can remember is 8.75, though I don't have video of that. As a random fact, the timer also said my braking distance/time from 60-0 was 170 ft, 3.81 sec, with "stock" brakes.

I haven't gotten around to actually taking my "car" to the Orlando speedway to see how close the GT1 is to the "real thing."

Probably my next "mod" (when I get the money) is going to 4.10 gears.

Sorry if this was a bit long.

I'm running the edge on level 3 no changes ,drop in k&N airaid mit, flowmaster 40 series SIDO the best 0-60 that I have been able to get is 8.33 seconds. had the truck dyno'd and pulled 247 hp and 334 tq. not sure about the a/f cause the guy did it for free and I didn't think to ask for him to check it . I can say that I have been pretty happy with the edge so far. If any one has any tips on "custome tuning" the edge I would really enjoy hearing it.My next mods are gonna be a true CAI thinking about the banks or the afe, and a good cat back exhaust system. my truck is a 04 f150 larait screw with the 5.4 and the 3.55 LSS rearend.

Hi.

Those are very good numbers.

Can I ask what dyno was used ( model #)?

Also - you can indeed extract more power by leaning it a bit - but at what cost? You really need to know your A/F's - and especially on your '04, which has the tendency to run lean from the factory.

You are after safe sustainable power, not just the best peak numbers. And there is also all the other part -throttle conditions that can / should be optimized. Plus the ETC system, which is a can-'o -worms unto itself to tune correctly.

Your tuner really needs to know this truck platform to tune it properly, completely, & safely.

Not sayin' yours ain't, but I would sure check if it was my truck.

I'm sure Mike or Marc can chime in and explain all this much more comprehensively than I ever could.... LOL!

Cheers
Bubba

Hi MGD, not sure what the model of the dyno was but I can tell you that it was a portable dyno jet. Andy was hired by Dyno Max to pull his dyno around on the power tour and do dyno's his shop is out of south dakota .
I was really pretty happy with what my truck put out considering the fact that it is bascially stock with the exception of the tuner and the mit.
I've been looking at the banks in take and there exhaust but besides for the one time they did the install of banks stuff on the tv show trucks i haven't found anyone who's used there stuff.

I like the way there cat back system looks but once again i would like to hear it on someone's truck before i shell out the cash.

If i could talk the wife into it i'd have new FX2 or larait chrome package sittin in the drive way !!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, the best I can pull with my truck is 9 seconds to 60. I am using the Edge, CAI and stock Harley Davidson exhaust..

Here are my 0-60 times.

Brenspeed 93 Performance Tune w/JLT Ram Air Intake=8.67

Innovated Diesel 93 Performance Tune(IDP) w/JLT Ram Air Intake=8.61

DTPRacing 93 Performance Tune w/JLT Ram Air Intake=8.78

Troyer 93 Performance w/3.5AF1=9.87

I have 2 more tuners to try, BamaChips, and VMP.

IDP 93 performance tune with 3.5 AF1=7.87, but the tune kept throwing a CEL and couldn't be corrected.

I'll post the results of the other tunes once I receive my tunes.

Wow, how are you getting so many tunes? Are you using the Edge to get your times? Many users with the edge have sub 7 second 0-60's only after a tune, they are of course 2wd and 5.4. What are you driving?

With the Edge on level 2 running 89 octane, AEM intake, Imco exhaust, and 285/70s, the best 0-60 to date is 8.56. I will fork the few extra dollars and fill up with 93 next tank and see how it is in level 3.

I have the Xcal2 and I purchased the tunes from the tuners. I'm using my wrist stop watch, so it's not perfect but it's all I got. I'm sure there is a .10-.20 sec delay if that. Sorry I thought the sig automatically gets posted. My truck is a 4x4 5.4 supercrew. I talked with Mike today about the tunes, and soon as I get a break from my busy work schedule I'll be heading down to his place to go over the tunes. His customer service is absolutely the best. He really cares about our vehicles and the tunes he does for them. I can't wait to make it down there. Hmmm maybe i see some sick days in my future. HEHE
