Load a bad tune?
Load a bad tune?
Is it possible to load a bad tune? Reason I ask, the other night I returned my truck to stock in order to update my Edge Evo tuner for my truck. Not sure which software version I was running, but I am running the newest one now. Anyways, retuned it to my standard custom level 3 tunes. Let it sit overnight, then go to take it for it's first drive yesterday. I start it up, and it's idling like crap. Sounds like it's got a FATTY cam in it. Sounded sweet to me, til I realized that it was smoking (white/gray) and was loading up. Drove it down the road thinking it would clear up. No such luck. Get a P1121 code. Says the TP sensor isn't communicating with the MAF sensor. Go to the auto parts store, buy a new TP sensor, and go through that hassle of installing it. I think Ford welds those screws in there from the factory. Anyways, replaced it, and start it up, and it's still running like crap. Thinking it needs to adjust to the new sensor, I drive it for a few miles. Get up on it and run it hard. No such luck, still runs like crap. So, I returned it to stock and started it up. Idled great, no smoke, etc. Drove it around, no problems at all. So, I decided to return it back to my custom level 3 tune with the exact same settings as before. And, its fine now. No smoke, no loading up, etc. Been driving it all day without a hiccup. Is it posssible that it just loaded a bad tune or what?
I dont know if its possible but ive read a couple of posts were people have had some problems with the new tunes. I'm not going to update mine anytime soon, ive had it for a month. I'm scared to mess with it since everyone is having problems with the new tunes. Good luck w/ the tuner. Id call EDGE monday and see what they say about it
