You can get a spray paint can from the dealer for around $20, maybe less (I can't remember). That's pricey as far as paint goes, but cheap since it is an exact match...

bump, good info. Webmaster, since this isn't a sticky could you please explain why it is not "sticky" material?

I'm not sure the last few lariats I looked at had the silver trim. My XLT has light grey w/ dark grey interior and dark flint grey matches the dark grey trim in my XLT.

Question Why not a Sticky?

The constant posts about wondering if you need to return to stock show that THIS NEEDS TO BE A STICKY. Thanks chester this helped me out a lot before I purchased my tuner.

Ok, from reading the first few posts, I have a question about the cold temperature part of the articles.

So you're saying don't use the programmer when it's cold out, or don't use the truck with anything other than the factory tune in cold weather?

Just want to clarify that before I ask more dumb questions...LOL..

When it is really cold out 20f or lower the edge may lock up during the inital start up. This is because the edge requires something like 12.2v to boot up and your battery doesnt have all that juice to give when its trying to start your cold *** motor. This has happend a couple of times to people i know and it has not been a big deal, just unplug and replug to the OBD. You should not attempt to install the edge in severe cold because the first time you install it your stock program is written to the edge and if that process is interrupted you are in trouble. The Edge is not some fancy *** computer. If you know what you are doing than you should not have a problem. Also the edge for the 04-07 has only been out for 3 years, so I personally do not think that is enough time to work all the bugs out. My truck is an 05 and i got the edge last week only to learn it is a nice set of gauges, I cant program any level. Edge is having a problem with the Checksum files and i have to wait untill they come out with an update. WTF

Actually, the Edge programmer for the F150 has been out less then 1-1/2 years. I was one of the first ones to get one (Jan. 06) and I have been running mine since. I would agree not to try to install or program a different level during extreme cold periods, but I see nothing wrong with using the Edge during any temperature. I have ran mine constantly through all kinds of temps without problems and it can get awfull cold up here in WI.

Hi Aftermarket -

Here's a good thread that provides some more detail on the cold weather issue:

I edited the post to clarify it a little... All it is saying is, just don't tune the truck while it's VERY cold. The computer's memory reacts differently at lower temperatures and there is a higher chance for "errors" when the weather is cold. You can use all the other functions of a tuner normally, but just don't change the tune. Unless you warm the truck up first...
