I'm glad everyone likes it. Thanks is due to several other people that helped me, and gave me some extra info. I'm gonna have to add a section about livewire now.

Ya bet they will be sweet. I ordered my edge from Troyer today. I wanted the xcal2 but didn't want to wait.

XCAL2 owner here. Good post, especially for those who never do anything with computers. What a great thing it is to be able to change performance characteristics with programming. Remember intake manifolds and carburetors? Lot more work. Anyway, should add that the battery of the vehicle must be completely charged and tuning needs to be done with all accessories off. Tuning takes me about ten minutes, so I've also read that some of the guys on here are having issues in the cold. I'm in SoCal, so a low of 60F probably doesn't count : ) Downside to the XCAL? Takes a while to get it. Upside? My heavy-a@@ truck tears it up now. MUCH improved; so much so that I'm now considering exhaust mods. and a few other easy improvements. Another upside was great customer service.

With the Xcal2, even though you get a custom tune, you can still change specific parameters of the tune that is in the PCM at the time. You need to know what you are doing though!

You shouldn't have to go right to the dealer to get the paint matched you should be able to go to any aftermarket paint place to get it for about 1/2 the price. I have never had an issue with the paint being off at all. Just tell them your paint code and ask for a spray can or bottle with the brush

Great Thread for those that are first time lookers/buyers for a programmer. I have the Edge Evo and everytime I take my truck to the dealership, even for an oil change, I reprogram mine back to factory and remove the edge from the pod. This way I know that I have the tuned programs with me incase there is a recall and they decide to reflash my computer. Again, great thread!

I left my lights on the other day, due to fog, anyway the truck barely started on its own. When it did the edge was blank, but it ran fine, turned it off unplugged it plugged it back in and everything was fine. Only thing to remember is that when you unplug w/key off you lose the custom option, so go back and return to stock and unplug w/key on and then retune
Also I did run the truck for a while before doing this to charge the battery back up.
