just about done with the s/c swap on my 03 expy. i have an xcal2 already programmed to the vehicle. my tuner sent me a new file so i can get the truck running when complete, but it won't load into the unit via liveload. says it's not a vald .ll3 file. i called him, and he sent another one....same issue. i have no problems loading any of his other previous tunes into the unit. any ideas? i want to get this running tomorrow when it's complete. i have an appt at the dyno monday afternoon.

Some possibilities:

> corrupt *.ll3's

> firmware version in your X2 incompatible with the version of Advantage your dealer is using (if he's changed it since creating your previous tunes)

> version of LiveLoad you are using (again w.r.t the version of s/w the Dealer is using, if changed)

What's the Dealer say?
What are the version #'s of your s/w & f/w ?

i see there is a live load update on sctflash.com, but how do i update the firmware on the tuner?

 

Hi.

Your firmware is out of date - you need v1.14 (v1.15 is for 2007's... I think you can use it, but you can try contacting SCT for a link to v 1.14).

To update firmware:

http://www.sctflash.com/software/firmware_update.pdf

You'll need both Live Update v2.2.0 and the firmware *lu2 file.

Is your Liveload @ v1.3.1?


Really, all the info you need is on SCT's site - there are also tutorials in the forums...

Remember to return to stock before peckering with Xcal2 updates ...

i upgraded the live load to the newest version, and the tunes work. still cant update the firmware, but that is irrelevant to me right now because the tunes load into the xcal.

 

Firmware 1.11 is fine, as is 1.14 0 do NOT use 1.15 for ANYTHING other than 2007 F-150's - just as it says on SCT's web site!
