Question $120 Difference In Xcal2????

I'm lookin into gettin a programmer sometime in the near future, narrowed it down between the Edge and Xcal2, while shoppin around I noticed a $120 difference between discountpowerparts.com and troyerperformance for Xcal, is this difference because of the troyer "custom" tunes? Also what's everyone's preference between the two? Lookin forward to hearin everyone's opinions...thanks.

The Xcal 2 w/ the custom tunes should be item #9400. The price on the website and the price given to you when you call and mention you're a member on here will be different. Give them a call and ask for your F150online.com price. You won't regret the Troyer tunes.

I've been running the Troyer tunes for a month or so.

I just ordered and sent in the worksheets today for my troyer Xcal2. There is a pretty nice discount, for being a F150online.com member. Just call and ask that's all there is to it.

It's probably going to take around 4 weeks to get your custom tunes give or take a week. It really depends on how busy they are.

Four weeks is about right - and it is worth the wait - custom tuned the way you want it

The edge is different. It comes with 3 different power levels, and it also lets you make your own "custom tune". It doesn't address every single detail like Troyer does, but it hits the high points. eg. fuel injection, timing, speed limiter, tire size, dtc codes, etc.... It also lets you monitor several aspects of your truck's performance on the fly. It mounts permenantly in your dash. If you want to. Whereas the XcalII doesn't. Since the xcal is not the same as the edge, it's kinda hard to compare them. Call Troyer, and he'll tell you the difference. I think he'll sell you either one.

Hello 06FX4SuperCab,

First, you cannot get our custom tuning anywhere else - and nobody else can tune these trucks like we do, certainly not discount power parts - or anyone else.

We have specialized in these vehicles for 15 years, and are routinely called by many manufactures & OEM's for our help in developing everything from tuning to many other performance parts for these trucks because of our expertise on this platform.

Equally as important is the fact that we give a very special discount to members of F-150 Online, all you need to do is give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to go over all of that with you.

Last - the most important thing to remember is that when you are shopping for tuning, forget price as a factor, frankly - tuning is just far too important, especially on these trucks, to try to get the cheapest product you can find - and you cannot get the tuning we provide for thee trucks *anywhere* else. Many people make the mistake of thinking that if you buy an XCal 2 that all of them are th same, and that simply is not the case. What we do is in-depth *custom* tuning, with results that cannot be touched by anyone else's XCal 2, or anything like an Edge, or any other type of tuning device - nobody else has the experience with custom tuning these trucks that we do, and no off the shelf device can ever get even close to the kinds of tuning that we do - the off the shelf devices modify a few tables and that's it - then they allow you to play with a few things. What we do is alter hundreds of parameters to give not only maximum safe & sustainable power gains, but also deliver the best overall driveability, part-throttle torque, throttle response, and many other aspects. And our tunes are developed properly, taking into consideration the effects on EGT's (something virtually nobody else does) and numerous other aspects.

It's very simple - we offer the best F-150 tuning in the world, and that is why so many people come to us, and rave about us once they have felt the difference.

That is really the best I can tell you - from there, you have to do whatever make you most comfortable, but don't let the price thing worry you, since you are a member here we offer a special discount - just give us a call & we'll be happy to go over all of that with you, so that you can get the best tuning there is, and have it set up the way you want & need for how you operate your specific vehicle, rather than just have a unit with canned tunes, or an XCal from someone who just loads in a simple value file and shoots it out the door.

Also, remember that we are talking about the 9400 - the blank XCal 2 that has to have custom tuning loaded into it - not the 9415, which is also an XCal 2, but it is a "canned" tune version, not a custom tuned version like what we do.

Now for those who already own a 9415, the "canned" version of the XCal 2, it *can* be converted to a regular 9400 that we can load our custom tunes into. However, no other product can have our custom tuning loaded into it, to answer the question for the individual who wanted to know if the Edge can have out tunes - no, it cannot.

I hope that covers the basics!
