Regular or super gas?

Was wondering if I re-install my Micro-Tuner and use unleaded regular instead of super, will it make a difference?
Out here in So Cal super is 20-30 cents more a gallon then super.
Uninstalled tuner when super was 3.60$

Thanks alot.

Well, just read your documentation and that will tell you what you can use.

See, it depends on the age of that Micro Tuner - the ones made in the last couple of years have multiple programs on them for different levels of octane - but on any tune that requires premium gas, NO, you CANNOT just use "regular" gas, you must use whatever the tune calls for.

Another point is this - the higher that gas prices go, the more sense it makes to use the premium gas tuning as the cost delta between regular & premium still stays at the national average of about 20 cents per gallon - so the higher that gas prices go, the better chance you have of actually saving money on gas by using premium gas tuning, as that will get you some improvement in fuel mileage, as long as you keep your foot out of it, so to speak - just some food for thought.

So check the docs that came with your Micro Tuner and they will tell you what fuels you need to use for which tune - the oldest Micro Tuners had 1 program in them, that was for premium gas only, while the later models have 3 different tunes in them, including 1 for regular gas.

I hope that helps, & good luck!

Thanks alot for the GREAT reply!
I bought it about 3-4 years ago, so I think it has only 1 setting. I was just thinking about paying 20-30 cents more for each gallon of Super instead of Regular.
Thanks again.

You're very welcome, & if you ever decide you want more flexibility, we can set you up with our custom tuning in a unit that stores 3 different custom tunes, so you can have performance tuning for any level of octane, etc. this is just FYI, not trying to play sales-dude on you.
