Evolution 0-60 OK for fun only
Evolution 0-60 OK for fun only
I have larger tires on my truck so I bought the edge to re-adjust the speedometer. Looking at the 0-60 and perfromance testing options I realized there would be no way to determine a before and after with the evo without some external timers like a drag strip.
Reason is right now my speedometer is 7 miles slow. So my 0-60 times would be much slower since I am really going 67 by the time the evo sees 60.
When I adjust the Gear Ratio in the EVO (unable the change the tire circum, seperate thread on this) I have to do it via a tuning option and the lowest is trans only. So right there I am not comparing apples to apples as my baseline was 7 miles off.
So if I put in a 3:20 axle ratio (in the evo) this aligned my speedo perfectly to the a GPS.
Basically the 0-60 is only accurate IF you have stock tires and the speedo is 100% on before programming the EVO and then afterwards make sure the speedo is 100% on after you put in your performance level.
It is easy for these companies to show speed gains if the tire and gear ratio and REAL truck speed is off. If I put a ratio in so low that the speedo is 20 high, then I would be doing screamin 0-60's according to the EVO.
Anyway nothing important I am posting...just some random ramblings on some opinions.
