Question For Mike T.
Hi Mike,
I am seriously considering getting a set of Dynatech headers and I wanted to know if my tunes will need to be adjusted after the headers are installed and what kind of gains in terms of HP & torque I can expect. My current mods are Airraid intake, Magnaflow SIDO, and of course your tunes. I know you have stated before that the Dynatechs with the high flow cats are the best setup for 5.4 3V even though they are expensive. Thanks in advance for your answers and by the way my truck is running great after you redid my tunes at the last dyno day. Mine was the white FX4 with the American Racing Torq Thrust II rims in case you do not remember. Thanks again for all your help and your great customer service!

I definately remember your truck as I really liked the wheels and made several comments on them...Good choice on the headers too...

Thanks for the reply, I had noticed in your previous posts that you had the Dynatechs and the good numbers they made on your truck. However your 5.4 is a little more modifed than mine so I don't know if I would see the same gains. Your truck looks great by the way...thanks!

Thanks for the reply and the complements on my rims, good to here from you again, I hope you and your family had a good Christmas and are doing well. I might see you again at the next dyno day if you are going to be there. I am thinking about going even though I don't really need Mike to do anything to my truck, except maybe install my headers.

Save a Little more and get the a Supper charger first
headers 1500 S/C 3900 headers 50.00 per HP if you get 30hp not likely unless you are S/C

Thanks for the reply, you make a good point which I have thought of. Problem is 6K - 7K for an SC is a little out of my budget that is why I am considering headers as that seems to be the next biggest bang for the buck. Also I will most likely give this truck to my oldest son when he turns 16 in about 4 - 5 years and I am not real crazy about a 16 year old in a supercharged truck. One question, did you put your headers on before or after you installed the SC and what kind of gains did you see? Thanks in advance for your reply!

you can get a programmer to set the top speed limit to any thing you wont I had mine set to 70 in program 3 that is my bad gas program so if it goes some where for service or my son wont to drive it guess what program he gets
but program 1&2 150+MPH

It is extremely rare for the tunes to need to be adjusted on these trucks with the Dynatech longtubes - in fact, out of the last 50 trucks, only one 1999 Expedition needed an adjustment, which we can easily email.
It's a simple matter of the PCM needing to relearn the O2 sensor transport delay time, and it learns that on it's own better in the 2004 & newer truck than in some of the 1997-2003's - though even in the 1997-2003's, it is still rare to need any adjustment. None of my trucks running longtubes ever needed any adjustment, for example, but again, it's a simple change as long as the truck is running right otherwise.
