I do the exact same thing. I stay on level 3...no timing adjustments yet

I definately noticed a difference raising the timing; I just drove up to Michigan from Fort Bragg and here's a few things I recorded; I hade my Honda CR125 in the back so the tail-gate was down. (Level 3 with Tires/Gears corrected and Timing +1.00).

85-90 MPH in NC through I-40, 52, I-77: Average MPG 14.5
75-85 MPH in VA on I-77: Average MPG 14.8 (Mountains)
75 MPH through OH I-77: Average MPG 16.5

I recorded the following on the Ohio Turnpike (80-90) 20 Minutes each
74 MPH 17.8 MPG
75 MPH 17.6 MPG
76 MPH 17.4 MPG
78 MPH 17.2 MPG
80 MPH 17.1 MPG

During the 830 Mile trip I saved a total of about a half a tank of gas as opposed to previous trips without the Edge. From the point of my first fill up on the NC/VA border (25 Gallons) until it was empty I covered about 420 Miles

I am going to try the Level 2 to see if it's true about the low-end torque because that's really what I'm looking for. Someone said something about having Level 2 with Level 3 adjustments? Could you elaborate a bit on that (What did you adjust on Level 2 and to what degree)?

Happy New Year fellas

ok well first off happy new year

secondly on my way out tonight i switched from level 3 to level 2 with the shifts firmed up +2 and timing up .50 (i run 93 octane) any way i like level 2 better then 3, more power downlow and with these big *** 37's i got it really made a big difference it keeps the engine in the perfect power band all the time i noticed. i actually made a right hand turn and punched it and i had to let off the gas to stop the tires from spinning what is everyone running there shift firmness at? i thinjk i will bump up my timing tomorrow to 1.50 since i have the 93 in it. level 3 had more power at higher rpms however so it depends what u are looking for.

I have mine on level two right now but while I was on level three with 93 I advanced my timming +2.25 and had no pinging at all. I drove it for about a week or two before going back to level two. If it's not pinging is it safe?

from what i understand as long as u don't get any pinging u should be fine.

I understand that the firmer shifts are way good for the tranny; but It seems to me like the firmer shifting would be bad for the rear-end. Can any mechanics out there help me understand this?

That makes complete sense. The tranny would slip less and the rear end would be hit harder.

Yep, so you find a happy medium. For me it is +12. A friend at work has his at +18, I tried it at 18, just a little hard for me.

Unfortunatley out here we don't 93 so I run 91. I have the timing set to +1.00 and have not had any pinging. I have even had it up to +1.25 without any problems but just wanted to be on the safe side. However, when I try +1.50 get pinging even on lvl2 with 91 in the tank. So i just want to make sure that I am ok if i don't have pinging.
