1. I always run 93 Octane so is it worth it to go up the 1.5 clicks in the timing?
2. Before I do it is there a way to keep the level 3 setting and just adjust the timing portion of it?

From my understanding, and please anybody correct me if this is wrong, the only thing that changes when you do any custom tuning is only what you go in and change yourself. If all you do for a "custom" tune is change the timing, I'm pretty sure every other setting remains as the canned tune for whatever level you had programmed. So everything would remain the canned tune EXCEPT for the timing which you adjusted for.
From my experience with the edge custom settings, every time I changed settings to my liking the tire size was off from the stock tire size, so be sure to check if the tire size setting is right, as well as gears too. If they are not right, change them.
If you have custom settings loaded in and you wish to change one or maybe 2, prior to going to the custom setting menu, you select the ""save settings" or what ever it is called. That way, you can then go change the one you want changed, all others stay at the previous settings you had. If you don't do the "save previous settings", you have to reset all of the settings.

2. Before loading Level 3, just select "Create a custom program." Then increase the "Timing" setting to 1.5. Everything else on Level 3 will remain unchanged. If you need to adjust the timing setting after loading the new program, be sure to select the "Load Previous Settings" option prior to making any adjustments.
Bill Cohron, an EDGE Engineer explained that once you go into custom settings you MUST also set the correct gear ratio and tire size. This is because the custom options make the PCM ignore the factory values for those items. The values in the custom settings are just "place holders" and may or may not be correct until you set them manually.

According to this post by Bill (ASEMechanic), you must either leave both Gear Ratio and Tire Size unchanged, or you must change both.
