E10 Impressions

How does your truck run on E10?

My 5.4 is not particularly fond of it. Gas mileage is down now that it is getting colder.

I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Well, your fuel mileage is going to be down, as the 10% ethanol content has a significantly lower BTU (energy) content compared to gasoline. T%typically you lose about 6% mpg using E-`10, though some have reported losing as much as 10% fuel mileage.

If the vehicle is going to be run on E-10 all the time, for best results it should be specifically tuned for it, which is done via custom tuning. If you need to have that done, just give us a call & we can take care of that for you.

Good luck!

Mike - Thanks for the reply. I am currently running your tunes. I took advantage of the Group Buy and received the tunes just after Thanksgiving. I have only run the 87 Pref tune since returning from stock after running an Edge Evo on level 2. I intend on running the 93 tunes once it gets warmer.

It seems that E10 is the oxygenate of choice for gasoline here in Jersey as MTBE has been removed from the marketplace. I have noticed the decrease in power of all the family vehicles In seems especially noticeable that as the ambient temperature decreases the diminished energy content of E10 becomes more noticeable.

My gas mileage reduction runs around 10 percent. S*cks for me.

YO , I see this all the time. I live on the border and have very often tried your gas at a lower price but get bad mileage to the point that using PA gas gets way better mileage at an increase in price but the long term results are that I actually save money and get better mileage with our higher priced gas.
Strangely all the gas prices here for 87 are within a few cents. Smacks of something going on and we don't have 'special' oxigenated gas like N.J. mandates. I guess it's our turn to get screwed on price and there is a fuel depo not 15 miles away.
