I got an XCal2 with TP’s custom tunes and I like it. Lots of extra power and better fuel economy to boot

I got the XCal2 with Troyer Performance custom tunes. Power increase was huge and the way the transmission shifts now is great. I average around 16mpg local driving. It’s been an excellent performance mod, well worth the bucks IMO, it made my truck fun to drive

There a “group buy” going on until Friday and it’s a really good deal.

Check it out

I'm actually getting around 19 on highway and 16.75 highway/light city mix.

The shift patterns, the overall 'feel' in the pedal, and the HUGE improvement over stock is IMPOSSIBLE to miss.

There's oodles of guys out there that tune... you're a consumer and thus, the sky is the limit. Keep this in mind though -- Troyer Performance specializes in the F-Series platform and, more specifically, the F-150. Sounds like you've gone 'all out' with your truck -- I wouldn't trust mine to ANYONE other than TP.

The XCal2 with CUSTOM tunes specifically for your truck from TP is the ONLY way to go in my opinion.

a buddy of mine has the edge evolution programer and he said its wonderful. any truth to this? still take the XCal2 over it? o there is a huge list of mods. 1. lift kit- pro comp 6" or rancho 4"
2. tires- pro comp Xtreme A/T 35"
3. wheels- pro comp 6089 20x9.5 bolt pattern6-135 5” BS
4. Grille, taillight cover, and 3rd brake light cover chrome
5. hood (tuscany style)-painted and with airbox
6. tinted windows 15%
7. Volant cold air intake
8. edge evolution computer programmer or XCal2 with custom TP
9. sound system/DVD navigation still figuring out the best
10. magnaflow cat-back exhaust
11. light- Xetronic™ HID Xenon Conversion Kit 9145 Bulb Type (Pair),
Xetronic HID Xenon Conversion Kit H13 (or 9008) Bulb Type (Pair

Hello gators,

I would advise you to revise a couple of the things on your wish list of mods - for example, on the intake, I would not use the Volant, I would use the Air Force One, it will provide much better power gains - at our dyno days here, several people have gotten rid of their Volant's on the spot when they saw the difference in the power curve between the Volant and the Air Force One.

On the tuning side of things, there really is no comparison between our custom in-depth tuning and what you get with off-the-shelf "canned" tunes in devices like the Edge - and we carry the Edge units as well, but virtually everyone wants our tuning instead. You see, we go much further in depth into the PCM, and we have specialized in the tuning of these trucks for far longer than anyone else, 15 years now, so nobody has the amount of R&D that we have into this platform. We get excellent power gains, as well as much better improvements in overall driveability - we provide a set of 3 custom tunes set up for each individual vehicle owners needs & preferences.

Last - you need to also keep in mind that there is no tuning in the world that is going to get you "good gas mileage and tons of power" - that is wishful thinking to have happen from tuning alone on a gasoline engine, IMHO. Yes, we can get you more safe & sustainable power and usually help improve fuel mileage with our tuning - but I would not call it " tons of power," at least, to my way of thinking, "tons of power" would be a supercharger.

Also remember that you are not going to help your fuel mileage by installing a 6" lift kit or by using 35" tires - in fact, just the opposite will happen, you will *lose* power due to the increased weight of the wheel & tire assembly increasing your driveline losses and thus putting less power to the ground, and your fuel mileage will drop too. Now our tuning *will* help to offset this a good bit, but if you want the very best performance and intend to run 35's with a 6" lift kit, I would also advise installing 4.56 gears as well as our tuning & the other mods, so that the engine can once again turn at least as many rpms for a given speed & gear as it did stock - otherwise the engine is laboring below it's power band.

These are things that a lot of people aren't aware of, so I'm just trying to help you out in terms of some basic info and what to expect, etc. I hope this is of some help to you, and please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below if you'd like to go over this in more detail OK? We're happy to help, & best of luck with your project - it sounds like it's going to be a heck of a truck!
