Just purchased a F250 with V10 and was wondering if there was a handheld chip tuner that might be best for this truck. I have a Mustang and I like Diablo tuners, but I don't know what is best for this truck. Thanks for any help.
You should give Troyer Performance a call to see if they still have this group buy pricing. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=256108
I've never had an F250, but I had a Super Chips programmer for my 2004 F150 and it was a waste of money. When I bought it, it was the only tuner for the newer style F150's. There was a HUGE thread on this site about what a great tuner the 1714 was and blah blah blah. I got suckered in to the hype and finally ordered one. What a POS. I was disappointed in it from the first day I opened it and tuned my truck w/ it. After A LOT of going back and forth on the thought of purchasing another tuner, I bought an EDGE tuner about two weeks ago and this tuner is way better than I had anticipated. If they make an EDGE for your truck I'd suggest looking into that.
Hi 2002black250,
Well, obviously I am going to be biased, but I would suggest getting gin our our Group Buy for our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as that is what will actually get you the best results for your F-series truck.
We have specialized in the F-series for 15 years, longer than anyone else, and this is why so many people here come to us for our custom tuning - in fact, we just had another Dyno Day event here where a lot of F-150 Online members like yourself came here to have their tuning tweaked and see their dyno results, etc.
For example, your SuperDuty V10 cannot even go open loop from the factory, so our gains on those trucks are even higher - the V10's respond *very* nicely to our tuning, and we take care of a number of driveability aspects, as well as much better shifting in the automatics, and many other aspects of PCM operations.
We provide you with a set of 3 different custom tunes, set up for each individual vehicle owner's needs, so that yo u have the ultimate in flexibility and results for any type of vehicle operation.
To go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we will be happy to go over all of this with you.
Thanks for your post, & best of luck whatever you decide!
