Halloween Treat

As some of you may know I drive by Troyer Performance twice each day. As an owner of an 05 SuperCrew and a member of this forum I have read every word posted about the XCAL 2 but have always found some reason not to take the plunge. Costs too much - I'm too old - Wife will fuss - Only get me in trouble - etc.

Well yesterday on my way to work I noticed (I think) a ghost or other spirit hovering beside the interstate speaking the following message. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY KENNY. Well that sure gave me a scare but I went on in to work. At lunch I went back by Troyer's and sure enough the ghost was still there but with a new message YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Well that was all I could stand - I turned in and ordered my XCAL 2 from Mike. As busy as Mike is with the group purchases I am sure he was not responsible for the ghost but it may have been Anita or Crystal - but I got the message and now am on the list.

Thanks to Mike, Anita and Crystal for all you help yesterday and now one of you needs to help me explain to my wife just why I need to "soup-up" the truck.

Hey Kenny,

Funny story! I can't believe you're fortunate enough to drive by TP twice a day and never stopped by there or ordered by now. I'd love to be able to visit TP or meet Mike in person as they have a great team and well built company based on strong customer service.

Unfortunately I'm up here in MN, but hopefully either work or free time during my non-busy season will allow me to travel down to a dyno day or just stop by for a visit.

Duke,

As you have probably gussed, it is a real treat to meet Mike, Anita and Crystal. I learned more about trucks in 45 minutes yesterday than I had in my 60 years. Mike is a real gentleman and took time out of his busy day to meet with me and help me with my tuning. (even if he did pick at me about my Flow Master cat back).

If you ever get the chance you need to make the trip.

Hey Kenny,

I've actually never been able to speak with Mike directly on the phone, but have spoken at lenght with Anita and Crystal who are extremely helpful. I look forward to being able to talk to Mike on the phone when I get my dyno and data logging done in the next couple weeks.

Hopefully I'll be able to make the trip in the next year or two. I'll be starting a 1967 Mustang GT500E project next fall and that should take a year. When it's done, I was thinking about taking it to Mike to fine tune and check over.

I actually didn't give Ken a hard time about his Flowmaster, he's kidding a bit there - he was the one who actually brought it up, and after that I simply explained to him why we feel about it the way we do, that's all. I also told him that we tell people that if they already have an exhaust that they like, stick with it and just do the next bang for the buck mod instead of spending more money for yet another exhaust system! His system certainly sounds nice, and that's the route he's taking, so he's got his tuning on it's way, and I think he'll be pleased - I hope!

For Duke - wow, that sounds like a sweet project - and yes, we'd love to see you any time, whether the new project is done or not, just come on down any time. We just had a very nice gentleman come down from Canada yesterday to see us for his dyno tuning, and he came back in today, too - so no matter where you live, it's never too far away, apparently!

I'll be up that way about the middle of this month for a few days and again in early December. I'll be staying around Lynchburg and down at my grandmother's in Halifax county. If I have time, I might have to head over that way and say hi.

BTW, thanks for doing the group purchase...I ordered my Xcal on Monday

No problem Mike. I'm in the planning stages now and pulling together a parts list. I wanted to start this fall, but decided to wait till next year since there is just too much going on this year.

Once I have a parts list done in a couple months, I'd actually like to give you a call or email and hear what you think on the choices. You know a lot more then me regarding transmissions, engines and gear combos; so it'd be really nice to have your expert opinion.

Then the build process should take about a year to complete. So I'm looking at Spring 2008 as a completition time frame.

Hi 87horsepower - you're very welcome, & thanks for taking advantage of the Group Buy!

For Duke - sure, we're happy to help with advice on your project - we do a lot of that, and I'm glad to see you're being realistic about your projections & time frame, etc - Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are nicely done high-powered vehicles in a lot of cases!

Thanks RP

As you probably guessed I am in on this group buy. By the way, are you going to be here for dyno day?. I thought I might stop by and meet a few more folks since I only live less than 10 miles from TP. I drive by every day on my way to work so when my tunes are ready Mike can hang a "Tunes are Ready" sign out and save on shipping.
