Question edge capabilities

i'm looking to put on a cold air intake and high flow exhaust. i have a 2000 f-150 with a 4.6. i've read that the truck will run lean and lose horsepower instead of gaining horsepower. I've been looking to get the edge because i like the guages but i don't know if i will be able to fix this problem with it. If not i will have to go with something different.

There is no programming capability in the Edge for air flow. If you are increasing airflow, I would go with a custom tune from Troyer and his Xcal2. If you are staying stock, or going to an air system that is not any larger, the Edge should be fine. I run the Edge on my5.4 and am very happy with it.

Mike sells the Edge so it can't be all that bad.

The Edge will work fine with a CAI. Don't worry about it, especially with the 97-03 trucks. It was the later models that had the problem with running lean.

It seems to me that the problem came mostly from running the 3.25 AF1. I think Mike Troyer has stated that you need custom programming to run that one.
