Just installed the Edge

Got my Edge in today and installed it in like 5 minutes, very simple, the gauge pod fits great and it looks awesome overall. I have programmed the computer for Trans only for now and havent driven it yet. Will report back, but happy with it so far.

Its a good product and you will enjoy it. I find that level 3 is the most fun.

Hi.

2004? You need to be aware of this:

You are risking several internal damage to your engine running in your present configuration. I suggest you remove your present set up immediately ..
The Edge cannot correct for this.

I will never go back to lvl 2 again after lvl 3. One bad thing about lvl 3 is the truck loves to run at 85 mph. lol

Me too. I am taking my first trip this weekend, since I added the edge and new tires. Looking forward to seeing how it does on the highway.

Yes, it can. Edge changes the AFR, plus you can make it richer with the custom tuning options.

Well i'm a little stumped. I programmed it to level 2 today and noticed even at low loads (normal driving) the engine will detonate (sounds like marbles) I then put it back to stock for now. I am running 87 octane and according to this it will run it at 87. I really didnt want to run premium unleaded in the truck right now. Other than that its great, I like the gauges. Maybe I'll have to get a dyno of my truck with level 2 and see how the a/f is. Wish this would tell you.

if I remember reading on the edge web site manual for the edge. level 2 is ment 91 oct or better but some vehicles can run 87 if no detonation occures. I also think you can adjust it for the 87 oct in the adjustmants in the custom options. you might have to read into your manual more to see.

Run your 87 out and put ya in some 91 or 93 premium and put that baby to level 3! You WONT be dissappointed!!! I've been running 93 in my truck since the day I picked it up from the dealership. I've also been running level 3 custom for about 3 to 4 months now and I love it!

Might be also that i'm running cheap *** BRAND 87 octane too. Cheapest I can find. I'll put some chevron 93 in next tank thats for sure. I'll then crank it to level 3 and not worry about things. The gauges are nice though!

Sorry - but your dead wrong.

The Edge doesn't begin to have the fine control over A/F's required to properly & safely adjust for this, over the entire throttle position range, and at any load.
You wouldn't even know where to correct... you'd just be guessing, which is a real dumb thing to do. Not all the 2004+'s have this problem, and not all to the same degree - you only know by measuring it, and a canned tune does not factor this anomoly in out of the box. Good luck with that.

If you had bothered to search, you would not have posted such an uninformed load of BS. Good grief.

Cheers
Bubba
