Well to get the most bang for your buck you want to get a set of custom tunes I got mine from Troyer Performance they are great, its not the cheapest but you get what you pay for just remember that when you get a chip/tuner

Hello marcsf1shifty,

There is no such thing as "cheap" and a proper tune - it does not exist - at least, not in a product that works well consistently and safely without compromising the powertrain's service life.

So the first thing to do is to forget trying to get by "on the cheap" - you need to realize that this is the ONE area you NEVER want to try to compromise by buying the cheapest thing you can find - that only guarantees you will get the worst results, and the product may also well not be safe for your vehicle in terms of getting a normal service life.

What will actually get you the best results by far is our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in the tuning of this platform longer than anyone else in the world, literally - for 15 years now. So we know these trucks better, and know what can and cannot be safely done to them to add power and performance.

We also offer a special discount to registered members of F-150 Online, so it doesn't' cost that much more to get it done right.

Now if you insist on trying to get by on the cheap, then we do also offer what are referred to as "off the shelf" type products - you will not get nearly as good a result, but the ones we carry will be safe to use and will be cost effective.

You're really much better off going with our custom tuning, to the point that we advise people to wait and save a little bit more money, as it's well worth the slight additional cost - but we will be happy to go over all of the pros & cons of each with you, and then you can decide for yourself which you feel is more appropriate for you - just give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be more than happy to help you go over all of this, OK?

Thanks for your post, & good luck with your truck!
