Hi Neal,

Actually, as long as your guy is datalogging properly now, and the knock sensor stopped pulling timing once you disconnected the broken heim joint, I really don't' have anything else there reducing your timing - it's just the normal stuff, meaning the IAT, ECT & knock sensor.

Regarding your new tranny, we may need to dial it in a bit - seems like each time you have had a new tranny combo we have needed to make some adjustments - I hate it when that happens, we had that thing just right, and that PI converter was really working nicely - but we'll do whatever it takes.

What I'd *really* like is for you to get down here with that truck (finally!) so I can put my hands on it and go over it thoroughly - really get a hands-on feel for what it's doing, etc. Of course we can continue to do it like we always have been, just by it's symptoms & data, that always gets us the results but it takes me a lot of extra work - oh well, we'll do whatever it takes, so just hang in there!

I'm tickled at the power it's making, and maybe we can get some more out of it once I see some good data.

Talk to you soon!

Duke: I can't give you exact numbers because I haven't dyno'd it yet, and I've modded it with a Magnaflow exahust system and Mike T's custom tunes, so w/o removing those two, I can't isolate the gains made by the K&N. I will say tho, I bought and installed it before joining this forum, and I probably would have bought the AF1 instead, if I'd known about it.

I originally added it to try and fix the lethargic accelleration my F-150 had when I first bought it. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but I have a 1995 Mustang GT, which used to be my daily driver, and I had an expectation that the 330 cubic inch engine would reasonably accellerate the truck from a stop light. The K&N helped, a little, but after reading here, I discovered, as many other folks have as well, that the programming from Ford is pathetic at best to totally screwed at worst (as mine was).

Long answer just to say "I don't know" but I don't, other than the numbers K&N have on their website, about 15HP at 3829 RPM. I think alot of folks here can attest they get better numbers from the AF1.

Oh, so it's essentially an air intake. I thought you guys were talking about some form of fuel delivery system. Sorry, I was lost. Yeah I'm thinking I'm going to go with the AF1 (larger diameter) and xcal2. I did have a ford reflash done which really improved the acceleration, but I'm thinking TP will be even better.

Hi.

According to Google Maps, the distance from Windsor,Ontario to Covington,VA is 905 km, or 562 miles. Morceaux de gâteau (That's 'piece of cake' for all you rednecks ).

You provide the trailer, I'll provide the tow - one way. You should be able to drive that beast back yourself, after Mike is done fixing it.

Oh, and the beer - don't forget the beer. And my dyno fees. And gas. And while you're at it, you can throw in those 'POS' Granatelli COP's you chitcanned.

Seems fair & reasonable considering the risks me and my tranny are taking, given your self-professed violent nature.

Good luck with that awesome truck, Neal.

Cheers
Bubba

HI!... I was just running in the TEST & TUNE part of WINDSOR SHOOTOUT. I never bothered to run in the TRUCK class. I figured I wouldn't be able to compete. If I would of I would of been the 2ND fastest there. The only truck in the truck class that was faster than me was a "64" Ford FALCON RANCHERO and he was only running 12.90's.

Thumbs up 2006 Harley truck with a Troyer Tune

Gents, all I have to say is TROYER PERFORMANCE rocks!!!!!! These guys know there stuff. Not ever having a tuner on any vehicle before, these guys made me feel right at ease. I actually ordered 2, one for my truck and one for the wifes new Mustang GT.

I was more than happy with how well the tune woke my truck up with the 91 performance tune and adjusted shifting firmness. No more waiting to hit 3700rpms to make it move. Now just step on the gas and it comes to life. It still wont break the 22's loose yet.....but that is coming. The mustang on the other hand is Oh My Goodness. I just thought that car was fast.........4.6L with a 5spd tranny.....3rd gear scratch all day long and set you back in the seat is not the word. What a huge difference it made to both vehicles!

Thanks to Mike and all of his crew for a JOB WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!! You will continue to get my business.

Hi Neal,

Hey, I like MGDFan's idea - it's not that far, let him tow you down so I can finally get my hands on that truck in person - heck, I'll dyno both you guys, so bring it on, you've got a tow offer!

Hi !SlayeR!,

Hey, I remember doing those 2 tunes - glad to hear you are enjoying them, excellent!

While we're known for specializing in trucks, we also do a LOT of Mustang tuning & modification here at the shop, so we can definitely wake them all up rather nicely - it's like you said, the new Mustang does seem fast stock - and then feels much better with our tuning, that's very kind of you to say.

Thanks for your post & your business, & have fun!
