Instead of whining on all the forums about your problem, grow up and file a complaint with your credit card company or a consumer protection agency like the BBB. I disagree with restocking fees and don't do business with merchants who charge them, when possible. Your real problem is the merchant who sold it to you doesn't believe in customer service enough to eat the restocking fee for you (Remember, the customer is always right?). To coin a phrase from that merchant, "I wish you well."

Yes my beef is with Edge they are the people who made the freekin thing and are the ones who write the codes.

This truck was built in MAY of this year how long does it take?
I was told by edge weeks ago that they have all the info they need to write the new code but they just aint got around to it.
they said they "might" have one ready by mid sept.

So anyone with a hex of TEGE3E forgit it working on your truck.

Tryoer might take more time but atleast they will write the code for your truck and not leave you hangin with maybe's and I dont knows.

I added the K and N drop in and a airforce MIT tube so I can still get the cold air and it helped out alot.

do something constructive and get your money back from your merchant instead of your incessant whining

I will whine all I want to thank you.
If I can educate just one person to NOT buy this POS I will have filled my Mission.

They made the thing Is there job to make sure THEY are up tp date on the new hex codes.

My truck was made in MAY of 06.
The latest codes are beta's and they came out on 6/30/06

so it seems that they are running behind on hexs.

Going on 4 months and they still dont have it right.
If they are going to make something that is subject to the updates Ford might do from time to time then THEY should be the ones putting out a disclaimer on there web site saying clearly that If you have a truck with the Hex of TEGE3E we do not have a code currently for your truck please check back with us.

But no they just ship the POS and be dammed if the customer gets the shaft.

And for all those of you who do have one that works you have no idea the warm and fuzzy feeling I have for your good luck

They do have a spot on their web page that list the supported hex codes. Its listed under the updates seciton in pdf form. I'm also sorry for your trouble. It just getting old already. Give them time and I'm sure it will work. If it was a perfect world we could all be happy, however the last time I checked it was not. We are all human and can make mistakes. Have a brew and enjoy life my friend.

Thumbs up

I have the edge and really like it. it might not be a troyer tune but it does make a huge difference, over stock, in the way my truck responds.dmoe, I dont think the dealer MADE you buy the edge. if you would have researched it a little, you probably would not of made the purchase.. but to answer the original question. go with the edge first IMO

Your wrong. The vendor shipped out the product without checking first. Not EDGE.

I wouldn't whine about Edge products as much,as I would about the spark plug sleeves coming off in the heads of the 5.4's.$400 tuner/$42,000 truck IMO

Ok, for this thread you have gotten a feel for both sides.

From experience, I have had a "drop in" filter from K&N, what a waste of money it was for me. No matter what you do, there will be someone out there to back up your decision, it will be up to you to decide which is best for you.

In my opinion, since you have a 5.4 3V....you are going to see more power and performance from a Troyer Performance Custom tunes on an XcalII with either a 3.25 or a 3.0 Airforce one intake....

My opinion. The BEST you are going to get is a 93 Octane Tunes from Troyer. I have been running 93 for 3 weeks with my tunes from Mike....today I moved to 87....while they are better than stock, I cannot tell you how much difference it is from the 93. My wife was in the truck, she said "your truck feels different" and for her to say that, it sold me hands down.

I will tell you this. Running the 87 Performance Tune from Troyer, I got 22 MGP on the highway on a trip (under 200 miles). I challenge you to find that with a off the shelf tuner, running 72 mph with 20's. RPM's were at 1800-1900. Compare that to what you do now and tell me I am crazy.

Like I said, hundreds of folks cannot be wrong with this. I am sure Edge tuners are great for their purpose but if you want the most of your truck, get Mike Troyer to help you out.

Edge guys may flame me and thats ok....I am a Troyer fan because I know what Mike has done to my truck.

From the min you talk to the staff at TP you too will know you made the right decision.

I got a Flowmaster SIDO, a drop in K & N filter and the Edge for a total of $625. I am pleased with the set up, have 32,800 miles on the truck and get very good gas mileage.

Good man. You made the right choice. Your A/F's will thank you

<IMHO> It continues to amaze me that, despite the overwhelming evidence (and first-hand eperience) on which actual products comprise the top three 'best-bang-for buck' mods, folks continue to choose the right, but sub-optimal, three. And never truly know exactly how / if truck is actually running safely over the long term, or will ever see it's true potential. <IMHO>

But, I do support your right to choice, even if that choice is bling/sound/perception over performance. You gotta be happy.

Whatever - enjoy

Cheers
Bubba

Good for you, man! If you're anything like I was... you're gonna spend ALOT more on fuel the first couple of weeks after you put the mods on and reflash the computer. You won't be able to stop revving the motor and keeping your foot out of the accelerator!!

Load the 87 Perf. tune first, fuel up with 93 Octane and drive around on that tank. When you get to a quarter tank, fuel back up with 93 and reflash the computer with the 93 Perf. tune. You won't *believe* the difference between the two!!
