Edge = Ahhhh

Got my Edge Evo tonight and plugged in the #2 Tow program. Ran up and down the freeway for about 15 minutes checking it all out. So far I'm very impressed. It actually feels like I have a V8 under the hood now! I'm really happy with the improved shift feel and how the engine doesn't seem to be wheezing once it gets above 3000 rpm...she pulls strong all the way to the shift point, does a quick shift and then pulls through the next gear.

I can't wait to try 89 octane (with the #2 program) and then the #3 program with 92 octane.

I would not bother with 89 octane on level 2 ( won't be any different then 87). Level 3 blows away level 2......

Same here. I started out on level 3, then after about a month, went to Level 2. After one tankful, I am back to Level 3 where I will stay. I put taller tires on yesterday, I was amazed at how much zip they took away. Only 1 1/2 inches taller.

I have been using my edge for just over a month and will finally get to try level 3 this weekend. It took forever to run this last tank out (almost 3 weeks). I noticed a big difference from stock to level 2 and I hope I notice this as well.

My mpg improved about 1 mpg, even with me "getting on it" a lot more. Should I tame down my driving, I assume it would be even better. running around the DFW area, a mix of city and some highway, I am getting 17.4. I have a 4X2 with 3.55, 5.4. This is actual calculation on 2 tanks.

Thanks for the info! After looking around it seems true that you can transfer the Edge from one truck to another, just looking for some confirmation, do you know for sure? I ask because I want to get the tuner now, but I will be trading my 04 in Jan for one of the new 07s. I dont want to spend the $ now if cant switch ya know. . .

The answer is Yes and No. yes, the programmer can be transferred as long as the original truck was set back to stock AND, this is the biggie, the computer code of the new truck is supported by that programmer. Supposedly, you will be able to download an upgrade from Edge that will include the new truck's HEX code. There has been some delay from some of the members in getting the reprogramming from Edge, even on a new unit purchased for a 2006 truck. So, in theory, it will transfer, but it is up to Edge how fast they get the upgrades out.

Dont know about the 07s but they have the tunes or can custom make the tunes for my truck.

It just my opinion but edges customer service sucks.
While Troyer has a long list of very satified customers.

Updated to a new truck will be at a cost................it will be a new custom tune. You should just wait until you get the 07 if you are going with Troyer.

I have never had a problem with customer service from Edge. I have dealt with them 3 times on the phone.
