9300 XCAL II vs 9415 XCAL II

Maybe someone could enlighten me.

I've been reading about the XCAL tuner and I saw on TP site the model number as 9300. On a broader search on the net for more info I came across the XCAL but a model number 9415.

What are the pros and cons, if any?

Also will Mike upgrade to the newer model ?

The only reference to a 9300 on Troyer's site is the item # 9300 Xcal I. The Xcal II is item # 9400. These numbers are assigned by TP Inc. as a way to manage inventory. The item number is arbitrary in this context, as TP Inc. could have assigned it as item # 6 or as 7000, it's just so they can arrange their inventory in the computer by number rather than by the individual names of each product. I may not be seeing what you're looking at, but this is probably what's going on.

The difference is the 9400 are custom tuned and the 9415 are canned

SF Strategy Flash Device - 9415

SCT XCalibrator 2 - 9400

The 9300 is also custom and it’s the XCal1

Hi Flight,

Yes, we carry the 9415, but virtually nobody wants it compared to the results they get with our custom tunes. In other words, the 9415 has simple "canned" tunes in it, like any other off-the-shelf tuner.

Also, the 9415 can be converted to a straight 9400 and then used with *our* custom tuning.

The bottom line is, if you want the best results and driveability, etc., you'd want to go with our 9400 and our custom tuning, like most here do - that is what gets the best results,as we have specialized in these vehicles for far longer than anyone else, and have much more R&D into their tuning. And of course, as a member here, you get a special discount from us as well.
