edge plus inspection?????

You really should leave it as is, do not attempt a reprogram, and call EDGE tech. support ASAP.

Were you one of the Beta testers? This was an issue with the edge going back to "0" after unplugging the unit. The PCM would still be programmed as level 2, but the indicator would show 0. Call Edge and get it sorted out. DO NOT try to reprogram level 2 however. The edge unit will overwrite the stock code that is saved on your edge unit, at least that used to be the problem with them. For future reference, set your truck back to stock, 0, before you take it in for service or emissions.

i believe from what youve told me so far that itll be fine and drive like stock, you can probably program it now fine, but thats just my opinion

Returned to stock a week prior, read that trying to get tested with a program could send a p1000 code and the emissions test can't be completed. Really curious if it's possible to pass with a tune loaded for future tests.
As for the condition your truck is in now, I wonder if they left it tuned and plugged in the OBDII tool which could have boogered something in the PCM that the Edge depends on after loading a tune. If it was a Ford dealer doing the test they may have reflashed your truck
I'm with starbiker, you should be able to plug and unplug the Edge in while the truck is on without issue. The issue with plugging/unplugging needs to be cleared up...

this is what i have gotten from edge so far...don't understand it though. anyone up on a how to?
"Nope. There is nothing they could do to the PCM that would cause the Evo to lose any information. The only thing I can think of recommend at this point is this:
Save the stock files from your Evo.
Program the truck.
Save the NEW stock files from your Evo. (They'll have a different timestamp in the filename.)
E-mail me the files so I can compare them and see if the PCM is, in fact, stock.
If the files match, then you're in good shape. If not, we can do a StockWriter to recover your original PCM code and then reflash your unit.
Any problems, I'm here for another hour. Otherwise I'll be checking e-mails frequently all weekend.

nevermind, i figured it out with bills help. he read the current files i had for stock and i even sent a previous one from a couple of months ago....he had me return the unit to level 2 and bring it back into the house to send him the new files to compare whether or not it was actually on level 2 but showing 0 after the emmisions or not.....ran out of time, but the truck did start! edge is on the ball, sometimes we think a little slow, but very very helpful when you talk to them. it always seems like a long time when you are in the middle of something i guess. so will fill you in on what i hear on monday i guess when he is back in.....thanks group!
just came back inside from helping a neighbor with his mg.....can't get the clutch to bleed.....anyway, missed a phone call from bill at edge at 7:15 eastern time as a followup to my situation......he said that everything matched ok and i was fine....someone must have programed the unit back to stock when i got the emmisions.....guess i learned a valuable lesson to put back to stock anytime it goes in for anything.....it was a same day descision to get the truck inspected....i had it set up for a brake check, oil change and tire rotation.....then noticed it was due for inspection...that is why i never thought to change the edge. thanks for your time group! another positive edge moment! LOL
