The strategy is a seven character HEX code, which coincides with the four-character PCM code. You must have it for the LL3 file format. I recently had my tunes updated and the HEX code was needed

your getting a custom tune for your truck, so you need to provide your truck's correct strategy, since many are reflashed by the dealer and no updated pcm codes are stickered on your pcm.
Yup, that's where I am now... got my blank XC2 and sent back my comp. code... just waiting on an e-mail now....
