got my xcal2

Just got my xcal2 with custom program and dyno last night. With my K&N intake and SIDO flowmaster 40 on my 06 5.4 and the superchips flashpaq with performance tuning I was running very lean and pushing 225 HP. Pulled the flashpaq tuning out returned to stock and instaled the custom tunes on the xcal2. Ran 3 more pulls on the dyno and got to 278 hp at the wheels. The pedal response is much better. It was like a whole new truck. I am going to change out the flowmaster 40 to a magnaflow just becuase the drone is giving me a headache at interstate speeds. Other then that I am now a huge custom tune fan.

I was wondering how you got 278 rwhp from just those modifications.

I have an 05 5.4L Screw with K&N Intake, Magnaflow DI/DO exhaust and I have the 93 Performance tune from XCal2 from Troyer and was only able to get 250 rwhp. I was just wondering what you have/did differently that I have?

Great question! The only thing I can think of is that mine was tune on site. We dynod to get a base line and then Dan from Prodyno started adding and pulling things. We did 4 pulls total to get it right and once the fuel air mixture, throttle response time, and a few other things were in check he installed the last tune and that's what I got. He was nitpicking every little bump in the graph adding and giving to certain areas. Actually it may bit a tad higher since the engine was hot and the humidity was very high. The guy I used has been doing this for over 16 years or so and he seemed to know what he was doing. I did wittness a shelby cobra before mine go on. This guy had it stock and it pulled 473 hp at the rear wheels after tune. Before tune it pulled in the high 3's. I must admit I don't know much about this but it was really cool watching this guy work.

carolina-06fx4: I assume you're from or in NC? If so, where did you get your work done? I'm looking for a decent place to dyno. thanks!

Dan from Pro-dyno is the guy I used. He even went to school with Mike Troyer. Dan will only work with Fords and he impressed me. His prices are very good as well. Pro-Dyno's # is 704.651.3807

Just put on the Magnaflow SIDO and I am much happier. Same great sound but no nasty drone.
