Cool superchips vs XCAL

Alright, I just bought a superchips flashpaq tuner and so far, I've liked it alot, but I've been hearing about this XCAL 2 tuner thats suppose to be alot better and I'm wondering whether I should take my new tuner back and get the XCAL? How much better is it? Anyone got dyno or 1/4 mile times to compare for a 2006 ford f150 4.6? Thanks in advance guys.

the flashpaq is a generic tuner whereas the XCal2 is a custom tuning device- the xc2 will render greater results and is generally preferred if you plan on doing performance mods to your vehicle...

The tuner in and of itself doesn't make the difference, it is the tunes themselves within the device. That said, an xcal 2 won't do you a lick of good without a quality custom tune.

I haven't tried anything else on my F150, but the results for my truck using an Xcal 2 custom tuned by www.troyerperformance.com were pretty good.

They did have a group buy of $380, normal price is around $425 I believe. Give them a call and work something out

TP’s custom tunes are the way to go IMO. You’ll get the biggest safe and sustainable hp & torque gains

Hi Boostaddict,

As the others have mentioned, it's not the actual hardware, but rather, the actual tuning *inside* the hardware that determines the results.

The Superchips off-the-shelf unit does a nice job for an off the shelf unit - in fact, we are Superchips Inc oldest distributor, so we know them well and continue to sell their products.

Those looking for the best tuning results generally come to us for our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in F-series tuning for 15 years, and thus have more R&D into this specific platform than just about anyone other than Ford themselves - to the point that a number of chipmakers have had us give them a hand with some of their off the shelf stuff for these vehicles.

We use the XCalibrator 2 to deliver our custom tuning as it's an excellent hand-held tuner with many features, and can be easily updated, has has high-speed datalogging built in for quite some time, has manufacturer-specific enhanced parameter diagnostics, etc., etc.

If you decide you'd like to step up to get the best possible power & performance gains, as well as driveability, shift characteristics, etc., and tuning set up for your preferences & how you use your vehicle, please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & our staff will be happy to help you.

Thanks for your post, & best of luck with your truck!
