? for Edge owners

Just picked up my edge for the 2005 F150 screw on Friday. I am still getting use to the various odd's and end's with this thing. I do have a few quick questions:

1) IMPG - Instant Gas Mileage?
2) AMPG - Average Gas Mileage?

My book made no mention of either term.

Also, how accurate do you feel the readings are? My AMPG - is in the 17-18 range right now. If I decide to take a long non-interstate trip, I believe my mpg would be in the low 20's as at 59 mpg my guage almost never drops below 20-22 mpg's. That sounds to be too high. Thoughts?

Also, on the level 2 setting, I feel no change in performance. Should I? Thanks in advance for the help.

I can respond to part of above. I felt little differece in Level 2 myself. maybe a little firmer shift and it did elimenate a flat spot I had from 2500 rpms to 3500. Level 3 feels much better.

All these post I been reading about how people loved level 2 and that it was better than level 3. I thought maybe it was just me, but I noticed a big difference from level 2 to level 3. I doubt I ever go back to running level 2 again. I also noticed an increase in gas mileage of about 1.2 mpg.

I agree level 2 does not compare to level 3!

I notice a big difference in Level 2 to Level 3. Level 2 has nothing on my Level 3. The only thing that sucks is my foot gets heavier and I get about 12 mpg on Level 3 but get over 16 on Level 2.

I just installed mine in my 05 crew yesterday. My first test was level 2 on my way to work today. It has a lot more low end torque. I can feel a difference. What are you guys saying? What you all don't feel anything over stock??? I passed a car this morning and when it shifted into 2 I thought it broke traction. I'm going to run level 3 on my way home today. I think I'm going to get a hard on. I can't wait for the ride.
I had a Hypertech and I decided to get the Edge because I didn't see any difference with it. Man what a waste of money that was.

My truck actually ran pretty good since I had it reflashed at the dealer. I did not notice much improvement with level 2, though it did eliminate a flat spot I had at about 2500 rpm to 3500 rpm. But level 3 is a different animal, keeps making my right foot wanting to punch it. I st the shift firmness at +18 and it is much better. It will scratch pretty hard on the 1-2 shift. You can definitly tell that the timing has been bumped up as it idles faster and smoother.

I installed the Edge the other day in my FX4, i notice it shift way better than stock on lvl 2 setting.

Question i have is this, do you have to run high octane gas in order to use the lvl 3 setting?

Yep. As stated in the owners manual and on the edge, you must run no lower than 91 octane on level 3.

Since the program is bumping your timing up, if you run lower octane, you run the risk of predetenation. If you hear the engine clatter, you are harming the engine. I would not risk it. Can do some serious damage to pistons and cylinders.

I haven't tried level 3 yet, but level 2 did wonders one my expy. I have been doing alot of mods lately but the shifting and responsiveness have definitely improved.

I just wish my cable wasn't too short, there is no extra slack and it is very difficult to unplug the tuner.
