I had a Flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler and now have a Magnaflow 5" x 8" #14218 welded into a Flowmaster cat-back system.

The Magnaflow seems louder to me, but that is because it is a smaller muffler. The Magnaflow has a deeper tone, but I can also hear it more in the cab than I could the Flowmaster 50 series. A lot of people have the Flowmasters so my truck has a unique sound compared to other F-150's in my area. I loved the sound of both. Listen to some online clips and decide for yourself which one you like. Mike Troyer claims that the Magnaflow system gives the most HP and low end torque.

I don't know whether Flowmaster offers stainless steel mufflers or not, but if they do be sure to get one. I will never purchase a muffler or cat-back system that is not stainless steel.
