A Challenge to Mike Troyer and Anybody Else
Hey tschaid,
Stick around man,we are all learning from what you have done here. Even Einstein had critics, but did that stop him?
Like I said in my previous statement about Mike not already having the tune, I know if I worked on something that was my livelihood I don’t think I would post the number for others to use. It would be like you as an IT guy posting 36 thousand lines of code from a program that took you 3 years to write.
Stick around Enquiring Minds Want To Know!

I too am sorry to see you leave. I too, have been a victim of personal attacks on occasion. Seems that I'm an ignorant farm boy at times, and others I'm a stupid college kid. But there's always somebody that might agree, that just doesn't speak up. I don't know how many PMs I've gotten from people that didn't want to stir up a hornet's nest in the forums with a comment that was VERY true.
Some people are leaders, some people are followers. The leaders sometimes make mistakes, but the followers never get the opportunity to see things for themselves. I know that you are acting against the normal "procedure" for modifying your truck, but the point is exactly put. It's a TRUCK. A machine. Just that and nothing more. The recommend fuel is gasoline. Does that mean that it won't run on propane? Ethanol? Kerosene? Maybe, maybe not. But there's a chance that it will run on all of those and more. The only conditions that have to be met,(and they're not as exact as everyone thinks) are that the engine recieves the right ammount of the fuel, with the right ammount of air, gets ignited properly, and burns "tame" enough not to melt certian "useful" parts of the engine.
I think that's engineering at its best. Pushing the design of your machine to new extremes. Some people want 1,000hp. Others want to run ethanol. I say that the ethanol converson is a lot more cost efficient, easy, and helpful to the environment. Not to mention, reducing petroleum dependance.
I'll check out the links too. But don't be ashamed to come back. I'm ashamed that people attack your character in such a way as to make you feel like you have to leave. Like fanuc said, Mike knows a lot, and he may actually know more than he lets on, but you have to remember that he's a salesman. And salesmen can't go around giving up all their secrets... Especially when you sell someting as intangeble and un-copyrightable as a tune for your truck. Just take the man's advice and move on. If you don't like it, don't believe it. Mike told me over the phone that I probably should get a tranny cooler. (good advice) But I want to know if I can get a "normal" service life without one. So I'm not gonna take his advice. (good as it may be) So far, I've gotten 176,000 miles out of my tranny with no problems. I changed its oil and filter once. We'll see if this "lucky" trend continues. If I end up buying a tranny soon, I'll wish that I had added a cooler.

And your attitude about this forum over on that forum is just as bad.
You've banned yourself from this site, but you still come here to see what others are saying about you?
WTF?
Grow up!

Hey guys come on, personal attracts on someone’s character gets all of us nowhere.
tschaid may have gone about this the wrong way. But I have been watching this thread and I for one have found what tschaid doing very interesting and would like to see the out come of all his testing.

I am new to this site as well as ford-trucks.com. I have worked on these trucks as a ford mechanic for many years. I don't know who tschaid is; but, he does have some flaws in his approach. first off the part numbers for some components of the fuel system have changed from the 2004 to the 2006 f150. the o2 sensors are the same. other part numbers are not. this doesn't mean the materials they are made of has changed. this does mean that basing an opinion on part numbers is not enough. it is important to remember that ethanol can be more corrosive if the materials such as lead zinc rubber aluminum polyurethan pvc leather cork and some other plastics are brought in contact with the alcohol. i haven't dug deeply enough into the gas vehicles to know for sure if they have any of these metals or plastics. i really doubt it though. it is my understanding Ford had planned to release a FFV version of the 2004 f150; but, didn't have the testing or programming completed so they delayed. it is also my understanding they had to get the new f150 to the market as soon as they could because of financial difficulties. early releases of this truck had a number of problems to say the least. i will say based upon what i know that tschaid is correct when he says these trucks will adjust 25%. most vehicles won't do this; but, the f150 will.
A 25% self adjust is not enough to be safe at WOT for E85 assuming the hardware can even deliver the fuel volume .
These trucks have been known to come from the factory with poor programming as stock, not even going open loop.
Trying to reprogram the stock gas system may work on one truck and not on another if there is no tolerences left in the tables so the PCM can do adaptive stratigy on top of the program change. Their would be a problem.

Bluegrass,
the hardware will deliver the volume. ford engineering has reprogrammed the pcm for higher flow rates. this handles your WOT question. as i said early i don't know what all the changes are to the fuel delivery i do think both the pump and injectors are rated the same as the gas versions. one simple change made by ford engineering is to increase the adjustability from 25% to 28% maybe 29%. this is one of the programming changes made to allow 87 octane gas or ethanol. i would just like to know if anyone has a high performance tune for the 2006 f150 ffv.

is this how all of the new members receive a greeting. ask a couple of questions make a couple of statements and all of a sudden you are not who you think you are. and I'll bet lumadar is from the east coast. is running ethanol in these trucks only important to crack pots from the midwest and northwest ? no i'm not. whomever he is, he has made valid points and other points that don't seem to be correct. regardless. i think i have the answer i was looking for both here and on ford-trucks. nobody has yet created a tune for the 2006 f150 ffv. is that correct ?

Oh, and we are f150online.com and not ford-trucks.com.
Oh, and if you think that the IP address match is just a coincidence...
I cross-checked all three of Cornpwr's IP address (206.198.5.31 & 207.69.137.39) and...SURPRISE...both match IP address belonging to tschaid.
I think I know one username that this user is not likely to go by...credible.
