20$ chip and guy has 99.1 pos feedback on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-93...05372216QQrdZ1 Ive always heard you get what you pay for. How does this guy have such good feedback? I just dont understand.
You'd be surprised how many people get ripped on eBay from power sellers with good feedback.
Looking at the comments, it appears some people don't think it made that much difference and some think it was like adding a turbo charger (one said it was a magnet though).
Personally, I'd save the $20 bucks and put it towards a name brand chip or tuner, then you'll know what you're getting.

All from a device that hooks up to the coolant temp sensor, awesome.

My wife's Amigo has smoked every Exploder it ever ran against, maybe I should fudge with the temp sensor and see if it will smoke a Lightning

Hello mrwake,
It's very simple - most of those kinds of "vendors" respondents are friends, family, etc.
All that device does is trick the PCM into thinking the engine is colder than it really is, or that the air coming into the engine is much colder than it really is - this is very dangerous, as it constantly forces more spark advance into the motor no matter what the actual conditions, and can lead to engine damage.
Look, there are no shortcuts to proper tuning - if you want to get more power, do your homework and do it the right way - have your tuning done by people that are true experts in just how your vehicle actually works and what can and cannot be done safely - the same thing your parents told you still applies - if it looks too good to be true, then it probably isn't true.
There is no such thing as a $20 tune for a computer-controlled vehicle - you need *proper* tuning done by an expert, or leave it alone - that is, if you care about your engine.
And yeah, the crap about the Explorer that dropped 1.5 seconds AND did 117 mph in the 1.4 mile is pure BS - if that truck went 117 mph in the 1/4 mile, his elapsed time would have been in the very low 11-second range - this is very basic, and is a clear warning sign to those who know performance numbers for these vehicles -a nd to get an Explorer to run 117 mph ANYWHERE no matter how long the distance, the first thing that would have to happen is it would have to have a REAL tune it in, to remove the top speed limiter - no Explorer can do 117 mph on it's stock factory tune, with or without that $20 gimmick. Another classic warning sign of a BS post.
If you are interested in truthful properly tuning, please feel free to give us a call, we'll be happy to help.
I hope that info helps you understand this a bit better, & best of luck whatever you decide to do!
