Low octane in tank... octane booster?

Hi guys. I just recieved my 1714 and unfortunately I have 89 octane in the tank. Would an octane booster allow me to set the program to 91 Performance? Or should I just wait until this tank is through?

Nevermind... I should have searched. Apparently I would need to add a whole bunch of booster in it and apparently no one here holds them in high regards.

Next time, I will do a better job in searching the boards guys... or at least I will try. Sorry.

No harm in asking again. You never know when a new member may contribute something worthwhile.

Like fishing, you may not catch anything, or you may catch a wallhanger. But one thing is for sure, unless you wet a line, you'll never know.

You do like to fish, yes?

Oh yes, howdy caveman Grog.

you can add toluene, not acetone! toluene is 114 octane, unleaded, find at any paint supply store. it's a primary ingredient of regular gasoline. might be about $17/gallon but the markup is ridiculous... i used to get it for 7.30, then it went up to 10, then 12, then 20!, yes 20, but i called BS on that and have been getting it for 12/gal. i run a 5-10% mixture in my Lightning on race days just to be safe with 14 lbs of boost and 18* timing.

let's say you had 15 gallons in the tank of 89 octane, add 1 gallon of toluene and you've got about 90.5 octane.

Or jsut take it very, very easy with the throttle until you burn it all up.
Back off the throttle if you hear any ping.
