Duke... listen to your ole' pal RP... put the money for your LED Tail Lights in your pocket... sit on it for a few weeks... hatch it into a little more money and buy the AF1 / XCAL2 combo!!! You **WILL NOT** be upset...

Like Mike mentioned, the only time I can hear mine is when I really get into the gas or if I'm towing (which is infrequent at most). When these 'noise' complaints started -- albeit there have only been a couple that I've seen -- I began to wonder about their installation being bum or something else -- or maybe they're just over sensative to the 'woosh' sound of the air being sucked through the stack.

In short, the noise simply isn't bad -- even under a load. I can't hear the thing sitting idle and, honestly, I can barely hear it when I'm really into the pedal too...

While I can't 'hear' it, I can definitely feel it though...

My only complaint on the system is that I wish it was just a little bit more refined... the polished pipe is nice, the stack looks good all bright and blue (although mine's dirty right now), and the construction was fine but, the seal around the heat shield really doesn't look refined to me. It actually looks like the heat shield wasn't meant to have it there and then they decided to stick it on. In my opinion, the better approach would've been to construct the heat shield with some sort of 'molded' seal that is on there from the factory rather than squeezing it on after the fact.

That gripe is, obviously, mediscule in size but, I'm a firm believer in taking something that is fantastic and trying to make it fantastic'er. In short, never get complacent with a good product -- try to make it better. This, in my opinion, would make it better -- then again, I'm a visual kind of guy.

Oh yeah... buy the damn thing.

Took ya long enough to get there....

dangit I've got to stay out of this forum as it costs me money.

I said:
"I'm never buying an XCAL"

My wife said:
"Honey some box from Troyer Performance just arrived"

I'm getting out of here before I get in more trouble.

Hey RP and Mike,

Well these were a fun two posts to read this morning!

You'd see the humor behind it if you had a money talk, buying a house talk, wedding talk, and then me spending too much money on my truck talk.

The LED taillights idea are going to be put on the shelf for a considerable amount of time.

I realize I've spent quite a bit lately (rims, tires, wood and leather steering wheel, and nav), but in my defense the nav will be tax deductible next year as an expense not reimbursed by the employer since I'm a consultant and am constantly driving to different clients during the day.

I'll give you a call Mike and see what the combo price is but honestly I think my chances are slim to none. If I get caught with one more box I might get hung. They (family and girlfriend) have a valid point and I need to finalize this house hunt before I drop more money in the truck.

Somebody send me the Bernstein Bears want book because I want a AF1 and XCal2 really bad.

I'll be giving your company a call tomorrow Mike.

Thanks again,

Duke
