Need tuner/programmer help!!
Need tuner/programmer help!!
I just bought a 2006 F150 Lariat 5.4L 3V, 3.55. The only mod I have are 24 inch DS 02's w/ 305/35/24 Mastercraft's. The truck is completely stock besides the wheels..
I am looking to make my truck to go faster. I would like to put the Magnaflow catback, Airraid or KN intake, and a programmer/tuner. But what tuner/programmer works the best for my truck?? I was going to buy a hypertech but after reading a few articles I backed off.. OR is my combination screwed up... I guess Im asking what are the best combinations to acheive a speedier truck...Also what kinds of horsepower/torque gains i will get out of these modifications????
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi brbourgeois,
What will actually get you the best results is to have us do our normal set of 3 different Troyer Performance custom tunes, which we deliver in the XCalibrator 2.
We've specialized in tuning the F-150 for almost 15 years, longer than anyone else, and are well known for getting the best results, regardless of the modifications done to the vehicle. The 2006 trucks in particular that needs specific attention different from any other model year of F-150, for example.
In terms of what kinds of power gains you can expect, our 87 octane tuning typically delivers about 25 horsepower at the rear wheels, about 30 at the motor - and even more on our premium gas tunes. We can do pure performance tunes, towing tunes, etc., whatever is best suited for each individual vehicle owner.
I also recommend going with the 3.25" Air Force One intake kit, as that is the kit that will actually deliver the most peak power, as well as the best part-throttle torque, and thus the best overall result.
Your choice of the Magnaflow for the exhaust is excellent, they consistently do a great job on these trucks.
If you like, we offer all 3 of those components in our Stage 1 kit for the F-150, which will get you roughly about a 55+ horsepower gain on that truck, and really wake up it's throttle response, as well as the potential for improving the fuel mileage, to. Going with our Stage 1 kit (if you want to do all 3 at once, meaning the best tuning, intake & exhaust as a package) gets you the Top 3 best bang for the buck mods all at the lowest possible total delivered cost - to do that, just give us a quick call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to help with that.
Thanks for your post, & best of luck with your new truck!
