For the few bucks you save at ebay you’ll sacrifice the lifetime warranty you’ll get buying the XCal2 new from TP.

Price it out, I don’t think the difference will be as much as you think and what if the XCal2 you buy on ebay isn’t any good, then you’re stuck.

Look into the group buys Troyer offers. The last time the price was $379. and that included three custom tunes plus S&H

Just buy the xcal2 and go to Jusnes and they'll tune it for you. I don't see what the big deal is about putting tunes in a programmer that wasn't bought from the vendor. Bamachips will do it also, Doug will even email them to you so no down time waiting for shipping or to be shipped back. Both of these people are easier to get along with if TP won't do it.

He sure will. I got rid of my F150 so I no longer have a use for my XCal2. I just called Troyer to ask how much for someone to have it re-tuned for their truck. Let's just say that I would pretty much have to give it away for it to be worth it for someone to buy used and have it reprogrammed by Troyer. Maybe some of the other places do it cheaper. Oh well, it makes one hell of a paperweight.

I didn’t think re-posting a price that is already posted in this thread New Group Buy on Troyer Performance Custom tuning!
was wrong. My apologies if I’m mistaken

All you have to do is use SCT's software to unlock the tuner to use on another vehicle and then import tunes that can be emailed to you. I bought a used Xcal1 for my mustang for $150, unlocked it and imported 3 tunes to it all for $200. TP has the Xcal2 for $500 with 2 tunes.

I came out ahead, I think. Oh yeah, my tunes are from Bamachips (the best tuner, period!!)

Are you saying you got 3 tunes from Bamachips for $50? Troyer wants more than 4 times that much. I guess if a person can get tunes for $50, I might be able to 'give it away' for $150.

That's news to me. My XCal II has 3 custom tunes with stock tune. And your OPINION on Bamachips is noted (not necessarily believed though )

Whatever makes you happy, I guess.

Sorry a typo, TP has 3 tunes on the xcal2.

And my opinion, and you don't have to believe it if you don't want to, is I've tried several different tunes including TP and the Bamachips has a lot better drivability plus more low end grunt.

How did you (scientifically) compare the Troyer tune to the Bama tune? I’m curious to see the results you came up with.

Dyno sheets, ¼ mile track slips, etc, etc
