EDGE Owners Question...

Hey guys,

I have been using the EDGE evolution in my truck since it first came out. However i have one concern that i wanted to check with you guys.

When i go WOT and get into the upper RPMs my engine whines...

It doesnt make this sound when i have the stock tuning on the truck. However with any of the edge tunes it sounds like it whines really bad. Its really hard to describe the sound, but it doesnt sound very healthy.. I have the shift points set at 5100rpm too. So its not that its overrevving..

Does everyone get this sound? or is it just me?

Thanks,
Nick

Any intake mods?

I have the Airaid jr, flowmaster si/do with the EDGE and I don't recall a whine.

(It's been awhile since I did a WOT run.)

I'll try it tomorrow if I get the chance.

Serpentine belt slip. I get it too. Most people replace the belt with a Gatorback and they report good results.

Na, its not the belt slip, i dont think. I know what the belt slip sounds like.. You get the belt slip when the truck shifts, its kinda a chirp sound..

This is a constant whine, from like 4000-5000 rpms.

I'll try to get a video of it so you guys can hear the sound.

I get the whine you described on lvl 3, or at lvl 2 with higher WOT settings (I'm only using 87 octane, but I'm at an elevation of 5200 ft). I just changed to lvl 2 with its default WOT settings, and everything is groovy.
