Ordered 94 max, but no more 94 gas

When i placed the order for my tuner i ordered the 94 max tune cause the sunoco's around here all sold ultra 94. Well now nobody around here sells 94 anymore its all called ultra 93. Will i have any problems running 93 octane on a 94 tune?

Don’t know the answer for sure but I think you’ll still be OK. My guess is that there will be enough leeway in the adaptive strategy to compensate for one point of octane.

Probably the safest thing to do is call Mike and just switch from 94 to 93 that shouldn’t be a problem unless the tunes are fully completed and ready to ship.

Well you know you can get tunes tweaked via email attachments. Call Mike and talk with him about it. I’m guessing it’s going to be a simple fix via email

Good luck.

That really depends on what kind of shape that truck is in, the level of deposits on the combustion chamber, the quality of the 93 octane fuel you will be using, etc.

You may or may not experience detonation, you simply will not know until you try it.

If you need to have your tuning changed, that can always be done via email if need be.

I suggest plugging in your tuner and trying it, and just take it from there & see what happens.

Good luck!

well the ups man showed up at 715ish. Tried talking to me, i was like can i have my box please. On top of it beeing late the ranger playoff game wason so on tuning last night. Picked up my paycheck and got home and tuned the truck. Was alot simpler then i thought. Took about 6 minutes. Started truck, turned over easier. Pulled up to stop sign, definitely felt like it was easier moving. Accelerated down block, first thing i noticed was the tranny shifting firmer. I almost thought i was breaking it since its been so long since i had my 97 with a chip. So the shifts took some getting use too. Hoped on the highway, never punched it. I could feel it accelerating with ease, tranny shifting firmer. Much more smooth. But........ as i came up to a u-turn i let off the gas to start my slowdown and when i let off at around 60 (just cruising) the tranny or maybe i hit something i dont even really know kinda bogged or it could've been the motor. Again it could be cause im not used to this in such a long time.

Overall im pleased. Im sure i'll be more pleased when i replace the O2 sensors and do a tuneup. Oh and when i finally get on the gas good.
