Fellas,

I am getting an Edge for my 4.6 soon, and I am a little intimidated.

I have seen posts of guys who have adjusted their timing, shift points, and what not. Having had Hypertech Power Programmers on my last two trucks (GMCs), I am totally unfamiliar with the Edge.

1. Those of you with the Edge on a 4.6, what level are you running and how do you like it (in terms of mpg, throttle response, torque, hp, ease of use, etc.)
2. If I just choose level 2, for example, will the Edge just adjust everything for me so that I don't have to custom tune the timing and air to fuel mixture and whatever else? I don't want to do something my engine does not agree with.

1. My buddy at work has one on his 05 4.6, I talked him into getting it. He now LOVES it. He tows a trailer at times and really likes the tranny and the power it gives him on lvl 2. He is now a great advocate of Edge tuners.....lol...and he was skepticle when I was telling him to try one out.

2. You can...100%....just choose a tune and set it and forget it. Or you can customize parts of the tune as you see fit. The option is there for you to deviate from the tune edge made, but the option is also there for you to live within the tunes edge designed for the average user.

 

Get it, I got one for my 4.6 and HELLO I have a new truck. You can play with the setting if you want or just run the stock programs. I was tickled to find out that I was getting around 2 mpg better on normal everyday driving and up to 5-6 mpg on highway. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!


It is just a toy that will make you happy with the stock programs they just give you the advantage to adjust it to any other mods you have or if you want to tweak it do not be intimidated, if it pings or does not run correctly for you put it back to the way it was or tone it back to find the right tweaks for your truck and your driving habits.
