Performance Question

Hi everyone, I own a 2004 F150 S-crew with the 5.4. I want to get a programer, but i am new to this kind of stuff and have no idea which one to buy. I plan on getting a K&N air intake, and a flowmaster exhaust. any help would be appreciated. thanks

The only advice is don't ask for advice.Read as much as you can and decide for yourself. The Edge has issues you need to read on and the Xcall2 from Troyer needs data logging from a dyno shop or from a wide band a/f reader, laptop ect.You need to see how far you want to go.If you decide on the excal2 with Troyer performence you might consider airforce1 intake system and magnaflow exhaust ststem he sells and you can get it at a combined price.Check out the website, read, call, and decide?Plenty of material here to help you with.

Hi fire,

Actually, it is NOT true that all vehicles have to have datalogging that we tune, so you'd really need to talk with us about that to get correct information.

However, in terms of what will get you the best results, hands down it's our custom tuning, as we have specialized in F-150 tuning far longer than anyone else - over 14 years - and are well known for getting the best results. We actually provide assistance to other major chipmakers due to our expertise on this platform, as well as help numerous other performance parts manufacturers develop products for these vehicles.

I also recommend re-thinking your choices on both your intake and your exhaust, as there are much better products out there that will get you must better results. For example, the Air Force One will gain double the power of that K&N kit, and the Magnaflow exhaust will do a much better job than the Flowmaster - the Flowmaster, while it sounds good (as most exhaust systems do these days, sound is easy to do) is generally going to cause a loss in part-throttle torque and small Hp gains at full-throttle - where you do not get that with the Magnaflow units. This is just one of the things I mean when I talk about us being true F-150 performance specialists, as we actually test the available products to see whose product is actually doing the best job - that is the only way to actually give proper advice, is by actually *knowing* whose parts work the best. We don't care what the name is on the outside of the box, what we care about are the actual results from the product inside - what I would suggest is to give us a call so we can go over this with you in proper detail, which we will be happy to do - and then you can make your decision from a fully informed standpoint.

You can also take some time to read in this section from any of the thousands of posts from customers of ours who have spent their hard-earned cash to have us provide their performance tuning & other parts, and see how they feel about their results - you'll quickly find that they tend to rave about both our products and our service, as that is what we do - specialize in F-150 performance.

I hope that brief info helps a bit, & best of luck whatever you decide - we hope you'll hang out here with us in your spare time!
