from 1715 to SCT2 and Qs

i have a superchip programmer now is it worth it to get a custom tuned SCT2?the mods i have are underdrive plleys, 1715, Intake, Exhaust no muffler, and a 180* thermostat.

also say i put a new exhaust (true dual) or a new throttle body can i change the setting to accommodate the new stuff?

Also can i change the shift pressure and can it give more power to the spark plugs?

Austin

These are things you really need to call us to go over properly - our number is listed below for your convenience. Any time someone has numerous questions or needs to go over anything detailed, they need to give us a call, as it's far too much to type out here. We're more than happy to go over all of this with you, and answer any questions you may have, of course - just please give us a call, as it's just too much to type when talking over the phone is hundreds of times quicker than typing.

Briefly - yes, you will benefit from having us do a custom tune over what the 1715 can do - by a significant amount. The 1715 is a standard off-the shelf type of device, and cannot compare to what can be done by proper *custom* tuning - so that's a definite yes.

As for exhaust mods, I strongly recommend that you do NOT put a "true dual" system on there, as that is going to dramatically kill torque everywhere on part-throttle, causing less power and lower fuel mileage - you'd gain some HP at full-throttle at higher rpms, but everywhere else power and performance and fuel mileage would suffer, and dramatically so.

There are ways to do a true dual exhaust and avoid that, but it cost some money to do it, and you have to use smaller tubing - not more than 2.25" for a 5.4, and not more than 2.0" for a 4.6 - you would also need to install a good X-pipe and a specific set of mufflers, too - not just any muffler will do.

Now with that being said, whether you need tuning changes for exhaust changes depends on exactly how you do the system - doing what most people do, which is to put on a properly flow-engineered SISO or SIDO cat-back exhaust system, we don't need to make any changes to the tuning.

The bottom line is, to go over all of this in proper detail, please give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be more than happy to help you, & thanks for your post!
