Little Help
Little Help
I have the 1714 tuner and im getting quite a bit of belt squeel when it shifts. I know its not that big of a deal but i dont like it and was wondering what a good setting for the shifting firmness would be that still feels kool but hopefully wont squeel.
Any help would be great
Thanks

I have bout 37k miles on it. It use to do it when the truck was stock, if i punched it and held it until just before it would shift and let off it would squeel. But i took that to the dealer and they fixed that no prob and it didnt ever do it again.(that was at like 20k).
I think the belt they are replacing it with, is the Gatorback. Another idea might be replacing the engine fan with electric ones. I would either call Troyer or e-mail him about that though. I'm sure someone will see this thread and help too. Good luck...
This happens to virtually all trucks that are tuned, and it's simply due to more power and a quicker shift, combined with a poor quality factory belt - as evidenced by yours doing it stock.
Just replace your serpentine belt with a Goodyear Gatorback belt and that will eliminate it once and for all - and it's not expensive, either - we carry them in stock and can ship them right out for you, if you like, just give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to take care of this for you!
