Arrow HELP with my 1715

I just bought a Superchips 1715 used off eBay, I got it today, it works fine, but how do I get to where I select what tune to use? I can select the custom options (shift points, tire size, etc,) and it will install a tune, but where do I go to select which tune to install? The sticker on the unit said that it was made in 2003 Did I get screwed into buying a single tune unit? The instructions that came with it were dated from 10/05, but the screen that the instructions show never popped up.

About mid sept of 03 is when superchip started shipping the 3 tune model of the 1715.

I'm betting someone pulled a fast one, sending you a instruction sheet dated 05.

Sorry!

Gene

Good looking truck! I see you are running revo's.
I sure like mine, got about 15,000 on them and no complaints!

SUM B!TCH! My programmer was made on July 11, 2003. And legally, he didn't pull a "fast one" because in the auction he never stated that it was a 3 tune model. Does anybody know if it is possible to update the older models? Hey Gene, what did you do with your old programmer? And I've got about 10,000 miles on my Revos, and I love them.

Hi.

Sorry about your luck - another reason I stay away from 'Scam-Bay'

To answer your question - a qualified yes, but $$$.

Refer to this thread for details:

After all the hassle, you could have invested in an X2 and rested easy

Cheers

Sheesh...I guess I'll just have to give Superchips a call and see how much it'll cost Either that, or sell it on eScam .

I haven't called about the update yet so I don't know how much it will cost. And it will do all of the custom items that the 3 tune series will do, as in change shift points (which don't really seem to change unless at WOT, when it shifts at clost to 5500 RPM ), change transmission line pressure (which doesn't really seem to change), change tire size, change gear size, speed limiter, etc. Side note: I have bigger tires, so I entered the larger size (31.5") and left the gearing set as stock. My spedo was off by over 10 mph, so I changed the gearing to 3.55 (what it is stock), and it fixed it. Huh.

Zaairman,

Sorry to here about your e-bay luck!

I sold my 1715 to a friend. So it's gone, really like the 6600, had Troyer write 4 tunes for my truck to switch between tow and performance each using 89 and 91 oct. fuels as we here in the midwest have a hard time finding 93 oct. alot of the time.

I'd consider selling it, but I havn't trade'd up to 2006 or 7 yet, and it would have to match your PCM code or Troyer would have to retune it.

Gene

How do you like it? And I doubt that it would match my PCM, you have the 5.4 and I have the 4.6.....Let me know if you plan on trading it in soon.....

Hey Zaairman,

I still have my 1715 (newer verision) discussed in your posting. I have not decided whether the benefits are their for me to upgrade to the Xcal2 or not; and will be looking at the $$$$ situation involved with this upgrade.

This may be another option if I decide to upgrade and you are still in the market for a good 1715.
