2002 F150 Tuner

Any recommendations on a tuner for 2002 F150 FX4 5.4L? I have been reading a lot on the xcal2 and the edge but they seem to be for the 05-06 models with the 3 valve engine.

Hi.

XCal2, hands down. From Troyer Performance.

It will work in your model year ...

Check this out:

Give 'em a call.

Cheers

more ?s

Ok, a couple other questions-3 actually. Is there an AF1 intake for my 2002 5.4L? if not what are some of you using on this vintage. Next question- what exhaust? I want to free it up but do not want to rattle windows and definitly no drone. Last question is probably for the superchips distributer- do I need to have the intake and exhaust installed prior to ordering an xcal or can they be added later without affecting the tune? Thanks

Like Red Dragon said, Mike will be more than happy to answer your questions, but, I know the AF1 is available as I have one. I can't answer which exhaust, as I haven't done that yet. And last, It would perform better if all were done together. BUT, Mike has also posted on here before that the exhaust CAN be done after because no re-tune is needed for CAT-BACK exhaust. If you were looking for more than cat-back you will need to talk to Mike (which is a good idea anyway)

Hi again;

Here are a couple more links for the same site:

Intake:

Exhaust:

The combo of the three mods - X2, AF1 & Maggie are considered by many to be the best 'bang-for-buck' mods you can apply.

There is also the potential for a package deal discount for F150Online members ( that would be you ).

You should call 'em - talking to Mike or Marc is a real treat in itself!

Good luck!

Cheers

Yes there is an AF1 for your application. And Magnaflow should be your exhaust choice. Call 540-862-9515 and talk to one of the very knowledgeable sales persons who answers and they will fix you right up....

Hi itsnotacar,

Glad you were able to get the help you needed - and just FYI, for that 2002 F-150 anything you cod want is available, ranging from our custom tuning to the Air Force One, to a couple different variants of the Magnaflow exhaust system, all the way up to our Stage 5 and even Stage Ultimate performance packages - the inly limit on how much performance we can get out of that truck is how much performance you want, as product availability for that vehicle is excellent overall - just FYI.

We look forward to speaking with you!
