Superchips #1100 vs. Micro Tuner
Hi 98,
Those older original blue Superchips modules *used* to be roughly about the same program as what you got in the premium gas towing-compatible tune (Program 2) in the 3-program version of the 1715 Superchips MAX Micro Tuner, just to give you a rough idea. So no, the blue module is not the same as the most aggressive tune in the 1715.
The 1715 will get you a little bit better result than the old blue Superchip module will, but for those who care about getting good performance gains, the hot tip is to go with our Troyer Performance custom tuning - that will get you roughly at least double to as much as triple the power gains of those older blue Superchip modules! That is what I would really think about, in terms of getting the best results and also a much easier installation, far more advanced features, the ability to be reprogrammed for any 1996-2007 FoMoCo vehicle, and so many other aspects.
If what you are after is the absolute cheapest possible way to get the best results, another option is to have us do a single-program version of our custom chip - that would cost you roughly about the same as that old blue Superchip module, but would also get you *far* better tuning and much better results, along with the ability to be upgraded to holding as many as 4 different custom tunes if you care to do that in the future, etc.
So there are a number of options available, and we view the original blue Superchip module as the least desirable of all the available options these days, simply due to advanced that have been made in tuning as well as the actual hardware - you can get a much better product for the same or just a little bit more cost - so what I would suggest is to give us a call at our number listed below, so that we can go over all the various options and actual cots with you, so you'll be able to make your decision from a fully informed position, and get a much better result.
Thanks for your post, & good luck with your truck!
