My Xcal 2 is on the way!!
I actually received my Xcal2 today, buy murphy's law it is only 29 degrees today. Two days ago it was almost 60, I think tomorrow it may get up to 40 so I can intall my new custom tune!!! I will be using the 93 tow and will post my thoughts later this week (I hope)
. After reading all the instructions that Troyer included it appears to be a very quick and easy install. I have a 2005 Lar. 4x4 SC and w/ the 2004 and later models there is not even a fuse that I have to pull like the previous tuner I had w/ my 2003. I would recommend reading all the additional instructions Troyer includes, I would not have thought to wear my seatbelt while installing the tune (so the warning bell will not go off during the install) and there are many other helpful tips they have included to make sure the install goes smoothly.

I received my X-Cal2 today but I haven't been home yet!
Luckily I am doing an upgrade from X-Cal1 and been able to use it till I got the new one. I made sure to download stock tune from X-Cal1 (Crystal called and reminded me) and drove my truck with stock tune and all I can say is:
I MISS MY CUSTOM TUNING!! Even for just one day I don't like the stock tune compared to Mike's tuning. Thankfully I will only have to wait 24 hours.

I guess mine is on the way too. I got an email last night from UPS that a 6lb package from Performance Products is on its way to the house? Or did I order something else from another company sleep walking the other night?
You guys crack me up with everything you go thru to hide your go-fast goodies from your wives.
I got around that long ago but it cost me a ton - see, whatever I do to my vehicle, I have to do to hers, too - so I can have whatever I can afford to do to all the vehicles - OUCH!
Thayer - you'll see about that when you get your unit and read the docs - we tell people it's not a good idea to flash the PCM in freezing or below temps - the PC,m can operate the vehicle at -40 below of course, but flashing it in freezing temps just isn't a really good idea. You can always bring it in the garage to let it warm up a bit, or you can start the engine and let it idle long enough to come up to full operating temperature, which in many cases will also warm the PCM (since it is under the hood above the engine on the firewall in the 2004 & up, and mostly inside the cabin on the 2003 & earlier trucks) to above freezing temps, and bring the XCal 2 from the house to the vehicle, and flash it that way - there's always a way to get it done, just don't try to flash the PCM when either the PCM or the XCalibrator 2 are at or below freezing (32F) temps, that's all. There's a bit difference between programming mode versus "normal" vehicle operations. - you will see all of that gone over in our detailed docs when your unit arrives.
This is not a hard & fast rule, we're just trying to avoid something we have seen happen on occasion in the past - where you couldn't successfully flash the PCM in freezing temperatures - so we simply recommend being just above freezing or higher to flash the PCM, for both the PCM and the XCal 2 or any flash tuner, for that matter - it's just really basic FYI stuff to avoid the *potential* for a problem in really cold weather, that's all.
