Whats the Deal? Edge Evolution Performance ?

Does the Edge Evolution programmer really help to increase horsepower and torque for the 2005 F-150 V-8? Is it worth the $400 price tag? Need advice?

It's actually below that. And it all depends on what you want and if it is functional. It will not turn your truck into a tire shredding monster. Any gains will be minimal BUT noticeable. The EDGE has gauges for temperature, estimated MPG and alot of features that can help you clear and check codes as well as monitor 1/4 mile times and estimated horsepower. Also allow to change for tires, gears and so forth so to many members it is considered the "Best bang for the buck" mod.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for something to add a little more horsepower and torque but didn't want to get into alot of the engine modifications. So it sounds like this little jewel may help in that area. Thanks again.

Here's a link to the FAQs for the Edge. About halfway down it discusses realistic power and MPG gains.

I installed the EDGE in my 05 F-150 4x4 Tuesday and drove it for the first time yesterday,I had already filled up with 93 octane so I put it on level 3.Now let me say this truck was very sluggish and had a hard time pulling a 2500 pound trailer along with all the other power/shifting issues you see here. The EDGE fixed my truck!!!!It tows without hesitation now,has positive shifts without the bog/lag,and has snappy acceleration.0-60 times are probably 2.5 to 3 seconds better than before.Definantly impressed and highly reccomend it.The truck I once hated I am now loving.

IMHO just the shifting improvements alone are worth the $$$.

2.5 to 3.0 seconds off your 0-60 times? Wow. I have not been able to time my truck since getting the edge but I figured about a 1 second improvment?

The changes the EDGE made on my truck far exceed my expectations. My truck was running 10-11 seconds 0-60 like others who have posted stock times here.

I am not doubting you in anyway. I was impressed as well I just didnt time a 0-60 because of the wheel spin.

Wheel spin isnt a problem yet, they will break loose slightly now where as in stock form they would not break loose on dry grass-really.I have the 275-65-18 ATS goodyears.

Well mine has the factory 18" rims and they will spin freely now when they used to only chirp.
