Edge Lightning software in a regular 5.4...?

I keep hearing over and over about some number of guys adding the Edge Products Lightning software (I assume that means its for the supercharged Ford Lightning truck...?) to the EEF2400 like I have and putting that tune in thier non supercharged 5.4 and 4.6 liter F-150's. Why? Does it add more power? More tuning options? Is it dangerous at all for the engine or the tuner? I like the idea of getting more than I paid for....for free...but not if its at the cost of engine reliability, or taking a chance of frying the tuner doing something its not made to do. Remember, I am nothing but a dumb redneck...so be easy on me if this is a stupid and redundant question!

It just dont seem right that a tune stratagy for a supercharged engine is the best tune strategy for a naturally aspirated engine as well....call me stupid...I dont know what to say...lol

Lightning is just the name of the software program that you can use to download updates for your Edge (and a few other things...change splash sreen, read DTCs, read and plot run data, etc.), it has nothing to do with the Ford Lightning.
