Troyer Performance offers Edge products, too!
Troyer Performance offers Edge products, too!
To All,
For quite some time, we have entertained the idea of carrying the Edge product line as an adjunct to our "off the shelf" tuning product offerings - as many of you already know, they make some nice products for the diesel market, and are now starting to get into the newest gas engine F-150 trucks as well.
As many of you also already know, our web site shows maybe 2%-3% of the products we actually carry (a fact we hope to remedy as soon as we get settled in our new expanded facility), so in light of all the recent interest in the Edge products, we want to let everyone know that they are all available from us here at Troyer Performance.
We will not be getting into Tech Support or detailed info here - as always, we handle detailed matters, Tech Support, order status, & those types of things via telephone only, as per the rules of F-150 Online - and in simple practical consideration of the fact that typing takes hundreds of times longer than simply talking!
For any questions, your special pricing as registered members of F-150 Online (as always, we will meet or beat any legitimate dealer's advertised price), etc., please call us at (540) 862-9515.

OMG!! Worlds are colliding!!!!
Mike, that is an excellent move because i know you like to carry the BEST products available and the EDGE will fit nicely in your product line.
That being said, you must've had a chance to review the product. I would be interested to hear your comments on it. I would expect that you have validated it'serformance potential since you added it to your product line.

Hi Everyone,
I'll try to cover the questions in this one response.
1.) No, we will not be customizing Edge's tunes - we're plenty busy doing our *own* custom tuning work, that really wouldn't make sense for us to do that - anyone that wants our custom tuning has to obtain it the same way, buy purchasing it fro us in either a chip or an XCalibrator 2, etc. That being said, for anyone that wants, we will work a trade-in deal for anyone that wants to get into our custom tuning.
2.) Yes, we have evaluated the product - in the 5.4 3V F-150, no, it does not deliver the same amount of performance gain that our custom tuning does, but as long as the vehicle is not running lean from the factory, it does do a nice job - HOWEVER - and this cannot be stressed enough - it must be pointed out that this is not a fair comparison to even try to make. You simply cannot compare any off-the-shelf products to our custom tuning, it's comparing apples to oranges - especially not when you consider the number of these newer trucks that are randomly running significantly leaner than commanded A/F's from the factory, in bone-stock trim, and need correction - correction that can only be made via *custom* tuning. Most chipmakers are not even aware of this, as they don't test on literally hundreds of the same vehicle - no one in the industry does that. Heck, it took us, a company that specializes in custom tuning of these vehicles the better part of two years to be able to solidly identify that pattern in the 5.4 3V, as we had to have literally *hundreds* of them in bone-stock trim on the dyno - and by the time most trucks come to us to dyno, they are already modified. This is so random, to the point that you can easily have 50 or even maybe 100 in a row that behave just fine, and then out of the next 13 (just for the sake of discussion), you may find 5 or 7 that run significantly leaner than commanded, and by varying amounts - and that can only be corrected via custom tuning. This is why we stress custom tuning so much, as not only does it deliver the best results especially given the fact that we have specialized in tuning these vehicles for 14 years, but given this tendency for some to randomly run lean, we feel all the 2004 & up F-150's should be custom tuned. It's a tough thing to deal with, as so many are OK, and thus off-the-shelf products can make a lot of people happy, but when you specialize in custom tuning a specific platform and thus custom tune so many of them, you see things that nobody else does. Again, this lean tendency is something that just is not generally known to major off-the-shelf tuning product manufacturers, because it's simply not practical or feasible for them to get literally hundreds of the exact same vehicle in to dyno test - they can go on and on claiming they've spent "hundreds of hours on the dyno," but they don't test *hundreds* of the exact same vehicle in bone-stock trim, that just isn't feasible or them to do - and it took us the better part of 2 years to accumulate that much data on bone-stock 5.4 3V's, and that is what we *specialize* in!
Anyway, I don't mean to get off on a tangent.............
All of this having been said, we *do* feel the Edge product is indeed a viable product, it is making a good number of people happy, and the reality is that we have always liked some of their innovations in the off-the-shelf arena - the truth is for quite some time, ever since they first entered the diesel market we have been looking at their products. Those who know us know that there are certain products that we will *never* touch, under any circumstances, as we are adamant about only carrying best in class products, and those that also offer an excellent bang for the buck. Edge does fit into that mold, and so we're happy to offer the product line!
