Question for Mike Troyer

What is the difference between the Xcal2 and the Xcal2 SF? I'm looking to purchase a tuner, although between models and brands, I'm getting confused.

Thanks in advance.

Wendell

Hi.

Here's some light reading while you are waiting for Mike to chime in with more detailed info:

9415 Strategy Flasher:

http://www.sctflash.com/product_SF.php

9400 Custom Tuning Device:

http://www.sctflash.com/product_xc2.php

In brief:

9415 is preprogrammed by SCT - Updates available from SCT (see below). Can be one-time converted to a 9400, for which you will then require custom tunes. A 'canned' tuner, but with a future.

9400 is a blank device - Mike then loads his unique & stellar custom tuning, based upon consultation & your specific needs - offers better performance & flexibility (in terms of custom tuning changes if required) than the 9415.

More info & s/w updates available here:

http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php

Hope this helps get you started...

Cheers
Grog

Hi Wendell,

The 9415 is similar to the 9400 (XCalibrator 2, but it does NOT have our Troyer Performance custom tuning - instead it has SCT "canned" tunes - and was they know, we make more power than they do.

The 9415 *can* be converted to a 9400, so if someone had a 9415 and wanted to upgrade it to our custom tuning, we cna do that for them - it's a one-way switch, once it's custom tuned, it cannot be a "canned" tune unit any more.

The bottom line is, if you want the best F-150 tuning, you'll want to order the XCalibrator 2 from us with our custom tuning, as that is what will get you the best results.

Mike, thanks for the quick reply. I recently purchased a travel trailer and would like a little extra "umph"for my Supercrew and firmer shifting for the tranny. From what I have seen, the Xcal2 would fit my needs.

You're very welcome, of course!

Towing is one of the mainstays of F-150 operation, and these trucks cna certainly use some help in that department - not only in terms of more peak HP, but also in terms of maximizing what is most needed to help towing, which is part-throttle torque. That's the real key to improving towing performance & capability, especially in these heavy SuperCrews (we own the SuperCrew as well).

Feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, or if we can be of assistance to you, & best of luck!
