Edge Question

Can i take my edge tuner and plug it into my friends truck and tune it then put it back in my truck or does the unit have to stay plugged in for it to work?

You can remove the tune from your truck, as in return your truck to stock, then put the tune in your pals. You can't put a tune in 2 trucks at one time with any modern tuner that I am aware of. Back in the late 90's I heard of guys being able to do that with certain tuners, but not in years.

If you don't return your truck back to stock tune before you stick it in your buddies truck...you will run the risk of making your buddies truck a 6000 pound boat anchor.

You can only tune one truck at a time. The EDGE stores your stock pcm data for reload when you go back stock.

Can't do both at once - it reads the VIN and/or the trucks HEX file numbers and will not allow you to tune more than one truck at once. I thought I had returned to my stock tune (factory) and then tried to load the edge into my brothers truck....only thing that happened was it wouldn't allow me to program my brother's truck - can't remember the code - but something like "you must return HEX file #XXXX to stock before programming this vehicle"......didn't hurt his truck at all - then we went back to mine and found out how to properly return the programming to stock - used it for an hour on my brother's truck then returned his to stock and reprogrammed mine - very easy to do - no issues whatsoever!
